On my last order I purcahed amongst others, 3 books on study techniques. One of them ofcourse being this book, unfourtunaly one can say I read this book first.
The book covered no special direction in studying, college, university, at home, at work ... It was facinating to learn/understand how the mind processes infomation, so you can serve the information to it as the mind prefers it!

the book cover some great aspects:

*How to read activly
*Evaluating WHAT to read
*Creating mind-maps

*Recalling information
*Reading faster

All layed out in a easy to follow pace and intresting. I read the entire book in one evening.
The next day I discovered I didn't need the two other books on study skills... just wasted 20�, thats why it was unfortunate that I read this book first :) Anyway I read the two books (I mean I had bought them) like I learned from Tony Buzan. I finished them both in one evening... And a whole suitcase of confidence, ready to take on far more complicated books. Now I know how and what to read, and remember what i read.

I highly recomend this book to everyone considering learning anything (that should cover most of us).

This book deserves 5 stars hands-down. I have read this book several times since 1985 when it was assigned reading by my professor at USC. I could not believe the transformation in my improved study habit as a direct result of this gem of a book. In short, I went from a C- undergraduate to straight A's in graduate school courses and all courses since then to this day. I work smarter not harder! This book teaches you in plain language how you can too.

As I wonderered how in the world I was going to make it back in college at 38, Tony Buzan's book "use both sides of your brain" caught my eye. Briefly, I finished two and a half years of Bachelor's work with a 3.9. I immediately continued with a Masters and graduated at 3.8. That is not as great as how I felt about myself. This information actually taught me how it is I learn best, it is a gift. It is written in a way that invites curiosity, simply easy to read. This is the thing to do. I am very happy I dared to try the 'mind maps' poster size! It took lots of courage to let go of old ways but the author seems to know we all have a 'self critic' and wrote directly at mine :). I am grateful for this book, thoroughly!
