4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 24 Sep 2003
I must admit coming from the area this book is based around, It is sadly true there are many carachters of similar stature that are portrayed in this book.
You really feel for the man in the situations he comes across.
A very good account of an undercover cop. Worth buying.

3.0 out of 5 stars Both sides of the fence, 4 Nov 2002
By A Customer
The book gave an excellent insight into how police oficers used to work in the eighties and by stark comparison describes the current skills required in the force today. Unfortunately there was limited expansion regarding the life as an 'undercover officer' - perhaps due to reasons of confidentiality?
Generally a good read and worth buying , but it never got down to the real nitty gritty of undercover work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth a read., 11 Feb 2008

I thought this was a real page turner and it was fascinating to learn about the real life of a UC. I just hope his force has better counselling procedures in place nowadays.
