Well built tuner in stomp pedal design, ideal for inline on pedalboard. EAsy to use and clearly visible in any light. Mutes sound so guitar tuning not heard by any audience, also serves as a mute so if changing instrument no unwanted noise. Recommended

Having spent 2 years at music college, I new what to expect before buying. The TU3 is a very compact and very accurate tuner, that is durable and versatile enough to be used in any situation. The LED lights are highly visible in both light and dark environments, and the pedal itself is effortless to operate.

Mine arrived today, so I can't give an accurate battery life, but the single 9 volt is easy to install and doesn't require tools.

When I un-boxed it, I found it came with a free Stagg instrument cable (3m), which was a nice surprise. Seeing as this was not mentioned in the description however, it's possible this was a lucky mistake.

After years of using other tuners, a Boss TU-80 and a Peterson StroboClip - I'm delighted with the TU-3. This made a huge difference to my sound as my Tele is now properly tuned. The StroboClip I found too fiddly to tune with, as the scrolling strobe patterns rarely stay still. The TU-80 had trouble registering the low E string - it's still useful as a metronome.

When I first used the TU-3 in it's default chromatic and cent modes, it took only a matter of seconds to tune the guitar perfectly and when I started to play, it clearly sounded better on both chords and notes. It makes my guitar sound better when I play. That’s all that matters. It had no difficulty registering and tuning the low E which in my experience is a good test of a tuner.

Like another reviewer, I was tempted by the TC PolyTune 2 having used some of their other pedals. I went for the TU-3 as it's simply the “industry standard” and like all Boss pedals is built to last. The multiple string feature on the PolyTune is unnecessary, you can only tune one string at a time. It's buffered unlike the TC and if needs must you can power other pedals with the TU-3. I'm sure the Polytune is a grand tuner but I'm very happy with my choice.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Boss build quality pedals. This is the second boss pedal which I have bought as a gift and the second boss pedal which has delighted the recipient. Gets used a lot and is very accurate, good build quality and sure to last, if you want more for this money you really are being unrealistic.

The best tuner you can buy for guitar/bass guitar. It is expensive but worth every penny if you use this live. Bought Harley Benton tuner half the price and was very disappointed with it.

Great and accurate although a little sluggish. Built to withstand a nuclear explosion. WARNING Buy a mains power supply at the same time as if you leave your guitar plugged into it over night even a Duracell battery will be flat by morning. If a jack is in the input socket the battery is on. Mains supply is about £8 which is only the cost of two batteries!

what a great pedal i use this in every band pratice and performance it goes in my signal chain it mutes everything so the crowd dont have to hear you tunning the led is nice and bright to so even in a dark room you can see what your tunning. as with most boss stuff its pretty strong to so dont have to worry if you knock or drop it

For many years I had simply tuned up before events using a tuning fork, but thats not practical in a noisy environment and tuning from other instruments is tiring for the audience and not always accurate or quick. Equally i was afraid another pedal in the chain would my alter my tone. Tuning from this pedal is effortless and lets you focus on being creative. Overall i realise i've probably been playing slightly out of tune for years and this pedal finally adds precision to my tuning, something my ears sadly can't.
