4.0 out of 5 stars Bosley Sees the World: Spans Lingual Rifts 25 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Tim Johnson's Bosley the bear, not only sees the world, but brings its languages to children in a easy to read format. Each book carries two languages, English and another, to the eager-to-learn minds of one's children. Although a treat, the story telling is not the only thing to notice. There is plenty of simple fun packed into this book, but Johnson also had the educational aspect in mind. At the end of this book is a list of newly introduced words, also in both languages.

Children will be happy to accompany Bosley on his journey though the world, which he see through the wonderment that only a child can possess. The pages are skillfully illustrated with subtle, yet stunning, colors that add to the experience, and bring a child further into Bosley's world with each word.

For any parent wishing to aid his or her child in multi-lingual learning, this book is a early learning must.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for kids of all ages 19 Dec 2012
By amacweb - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I really enjoyed this book and am happy that it helps me practice the Italian I do know. I can't wait to read this to my own children when they are born! I have purchased this book for my nieces and nephews between the ages of 2 and 10 and they all enjoy it. At a younger age kids love the adventure of Bosley along with all the illustrations, and the older children enjoyed digging right into learning a new language. Great book to have as part of the collection and I hope to see more Bosley adventures in the future!
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!/Fantastico! 12 Jan 2014
By Author Alinka Rutkowska - Published on Amazon.com

This book is exceptional! I love the story of the little bear wanting to go see what's outside his little cavern. Step by step he discovers how huge the world is and he develops the desire to explore it when he gets bigger. This is a magnificent message for future little travelers. And it's both in English and Italian - perfect for my bilingual daughter :) The illustrations are bright and vivid - very appealing to children. The author is doing an extraordinary job with this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLE STORY DOES THE TRICK 18 April 2013
By Barbara Grimaldi - Published on Amazon.com

Sweet animal story with colorful and compelling illustrations make this book a great tool for me, an adult, to approach the study of Italian. A young child can easily identify with Bosley, which should make it a hit with that age group. The bilingual captions are clear and easy to compare and comprehend. I understand this same publisher has another book like it, which I will order soon. Great way to observe the verb forms in Italian, which, to me, are the most difficult part of this beautiful language.
4.0 out of 5 stars Ingenious Way To Teach Kids A Second Language 1 Dec 2012
By M. Spinak - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Bosley Sees the World is the story of a young bear who goes on an adventure. It's a charming little story, and suitable for young children. They'll be able to relate to Bosley, and they'll delight in his exploration. I would guess it's ideally suited for kids about age 3-5.

The book is specially designed to help teach children a second language - especially vocabulary. (It could help adults, too.) This is the area where the book shines brightest. The method the book uses to accomplish teaching a second language is ingenious, and very well executed.
5.0 out of 5 stars An Exciting Way to Learn a New Language 29 Nov 2012
By Rich - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Bosley Sees the World is the story of a young bear, who wakes up one day in his "tiny cave," and decides to explore the world. He climbs a big tree. He walks through the forest. He swims through a river, and he climbs a mountain only to look out and realize it's just the beginning. A fun story with vivid illustrations is only half of this book. As the cover states, it's in Italian and English. Both languages accompany one another so the reader can easily refer to the other to learn it. Key words are color coded to help match them.

This dual language book may pose a challenge to some children, as well as adults, especially those who are learning an unknown language for the first time. I could imagine a situation where children might pick up the language quicker than their parents and that might create an interesting learning experience. Yet, with its simple story and phrasing, most parents and children will find it a very effective learning method.
