Product Description

BosieBoo Personal UV Meter. Bosie Boo Personal UV Meter lets you know when you or your child, have been in the sun too long. Tell Bosie Boo UV Monitor when sunscreen is applied, it will measure the strength of the Sun's rays and an alarm will sound when more suncream needs to be put on. The UV Meter measures the strength of the sun and takes into account the SPF rating of your sun cream, to give you an indication of how long you can stay in the sun before sunburn occurs. The meter is designed and calibrated to the protect the skin of young children and takes the worry out of visits to the beach.

Firstly, I wrote a previous review which gave this 3 stars, but this didn't seem to get published. I've now really used the product and am re-doing that review...

As a test, I set this in Paris, on 21st August 2011, temperature outside was 30 to 33 degrees celsius, with clear skies. I set the timer at about 11:00am and at that time you would call the sun level "blazing". I set the SPF factor to 20. The warning alarm eventually went off at 3:00am on Monday 22nd August (obviously when it was dark). Will I ever use this to protect my child? Not a chance! Its in the bin.

Never worked - it was so cheap I didn't bother returning it - but don't bother, it just doesn't work. You get what you pay for.
