Product Description

About Bose

Dedication to research and excellence has been the Bose approach to better sound since Dr. Amar G. Bose founded the company in 1964. Ever since then, Bose engineers have focused on creating better technology. You'll find that focus exemplified in the Bose® Bluetooth® headset Series 2.

About The Product

Bluetooth® headset Series 2 meets this challenge head-on. Designed to adapt automatically as ambient noise levels change, it will let you hear the person on the other end of the line so clearly, it’s almost as if they’re standing next to you. Bose’s proprietary noise-rejecting microphone system also allows your caller to hear your voice better over the wind and noise around you. From loud traffic to bustling terminals, staying in touch while you're on the go can be demanding.

The Bose® Bluetooth® headset Series 2 is light-weight, small and well-balanced, and available in left or right -ear options. Experience how cutting-edge Bose technologies allow your caller to hear less ambient noise, like wind, and more of your voice.

Better audio at either end of your phone call

Enjoy consistent listening levels thanks to advanced technology by Bose. The Bose® Bluetooth® headset automatically senses ambient noise and adjusts the volume on the headset accordingly. In a quiet environment, volume levels go down. When things get noisier, the audio goes up to allow you to hear your caller better. No matter what the volume level, Bose’s TriPort® acoustic structure will let you hear smooth, natural audio.

Your caller will also hear you better, too. The advanced noise-rejecting microphone system differentiates between ambient sound and your voice — even in windy areas. It transmits less noise, and more of your voice to the person on the other side of the line.

The Bose® Bluetooth® headset emphasises voices over noise, allowing for more lifelike conversations with fewer interruptions — at either end of the line.

Engineered for a superior fit

Designed to suit your needs better, the headset comes in left and right-ear options, with a curved design that follows the features of your face. The buttons have been conveniently placed at the top and bottom of the Bose® Bluetooth® Series 2 headset, which allows you to use a natural pinching motion that won't dislodge it. The headset is fitted with a flexible StayHear® silicone tip to keep it comfortably and securely in place. The tip avoids known pressure points by distributing contact over a larger ear area, without being too tight or requiring an ear hook.

Simple to use

Separate buttons for volume, call send/end and power have been conveniently placed on the top and bottom edges of the Bose Bluetooth® headset. You can easily use one hand to operate the device, whether you’re answering or ending calls, or putting on or taking off the headset. This feature can be extremely important when you’re on the move or driving.

A2DP streaming audio

Enjoy streaming mobile media content when you're not on the phone through A2DP, the Bluetooth® profile that allows you to listen to turn-by-turn directions and stored music, podcasts and other media on your smartphone.

Maintain a consistent listening level as you move between quiet and noisy areas with Bose’s adaptive audio adjustment technology, which automatically adjusts the volume of your headset to ambient noise levels. Filter out background noise with the noise rejecting microphone, so that your caller can hear more of you. Enjoy more natural-sounding voice quality and louder volumes in noisy areas thanks to the headset’s TriPort® acoustic structure. StayHear® removable silicone tips, available in small, medium and large, improve stability without requiring an ear hook, for a customised fit that’s comfortable too. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery allows up to 100 hours of standby time and 4.5 hours of talk time per charge. The battery status, which changes from green to amber to red, is shown on the battery indicator. Pinch the answer/end call button to answer your calls easily and end them just as simply, without dislodging the headset. You can also pair the headset with your Bluetooth® phone. Turn the power on (green) or off (red) with one hand. All it takes is a quick slide of the power slider switch. Charge your headset’s battery using your choice of the wall and USB chargers. Protect your headset by using the carrying case during transportation and storage.

What's in the box
  • Headset for right ear
  • USB cable
  • Carrying case
  • Wall charger (EU and UK plug included)
  • Additional StayHear® tips (small and large)

I have spent a lot of money during the past 10 years or so that bluetooth headsets are on the market, and I have been equally disappointed among many people for various reasons. Lets just focus on the most important thing that we do with a bluetooth headset : its usually calling, right ? Just after that there is multimedia interest such as listening to music or watching movies / games. I am writing this review because I use this headset for phonecalls (full stop).
The main problems I have experienced with a broad range of Bluetooth headset were : crackling noises even when near the phone, distorted conversations, earpiece pains, noise reduction didnt work properly, echoes, sound not loud enough or tinny... I guess 9 out of 10 people that read this know what I am talking about.
I decided to upper my outlay and ordered the Plantronics Voyager pro UC just last week because of the great reviews, and it lasted 6 hours in my ear before it got sent back to amazon for some of the above problems, mainly crackling noise and earpiece pain. Since the difference to the BOSE was "only" 40 quid I thought that I may try one more headset before I finally give up and ordered this.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE ! I have finally arrived, having found this piece of technology. Not only does it precisely what it promises in the description or on the box, but it looks really stylish as well. Its small, really comfortable, lightweight, and simply logic. The on/off button is a slider so you never need to guess about what you are doing, the volume control buttons are first of all large enough to tell/ feel the difference and the pairing process is a smooth and very fast action.

This is about my 5th or 6th Bluetooth headset. Before getting this I have been using a Plantronics Voyager B230, which is very good. I have tested this on my Blackberry Bold 9790. The Bose is in a similar price bracket to the Voyager and beats it in a few key areas. Firstly it is tiny which means it is easy to keep with you, it is very comfortable to wear and you barely notice it is there. The call quality for the user is good and similar to most high end headsets. Where this beats the rest is that the noise cancelling and microphone are first rate meaning no one will know you are using a headset and even in noisy environments the recipient of your call will be able to hear you clearly. An excellent though pricey device worth it's five stars.

I've just ordered my second one of these beauties to go with my iPhone 4. I lost the first and had the chance to buy one of the latest Jawbone or Plantronic models. I've owned these other makes and overall the Bose has been the best so far. Unlike the Plantronic (a great product) the Bose sits very discretely in the ear and is very comfortable. Because it is so small it fits in the pocket and can be pulled out quickly to receive a call. Just switching on connects the call (so the latest software on the Plantronic that senses movement onto the ear becomes unnecessary). It also means you can lose it easily if you are careless (hands up!)
The battery life lasts enough for at least a day of calls and charges easily and very quickly (often less than an hour it seemed to me). The sound quality is excellent and callers never complained (as they used to occasionally with the Jawbone). The ear piece does not need to touch the side of the face to work properly (unlike the Jawbone) and so you can be casual the way you slip it into your ear. The rubber ear piece is similar to the ones used on the Bose in-ear headphones that play music with/without a microphone (another great product).
Overall this product gives the best quality and most compact size for an in-ear headset to go with a mobile phone. I know it is expensive (like all Bose products) and lacks some of the gizmos that the other makes have (apps and battery indicators for example on the iPhone). These things are useful but the neatness of the unit of the call quality (or music playback for that matter) are more important. Even in a moving car the unit works very well - including with the roof down!
So IMHO I can thoroughly recommend one to go with the iPhone 4 at least!

I must've procrastinated getting this item for over three weeks. I first purchased the Plantronics HD, which I was really happy with until I made a call. 'The sibilant sounds like "S" are over emphasized and actually painful to have blasted right into the ear." This is a quote that I had read previously on the American Amazon and soooo true, so I promptly returned it with Amazon's excellent return policy.

Now for the BOSE. I shouldn't have waited so long. From the box I took it out, turned it on and paired it with my device, which is the iPhone 4s. It fitted effortlessly into my ear (as if it was made for it) I first played some tunes and they sounded very rounded. After charging for the first time, three hours later I decided to make a call. Using SIRI and voice command from the headset, it was a piece of cake to get connected to one of my friends, who gave me 10 out of 10 for audio quality as opposed to 5/10 for the Plantronics. I'm not a heavy user so charging shouldn't bother me, but I've read it's a little lite on the standby time.

Pros: It's light. It's cool. Its small.
Con: Expensive

Conclusion Worth it!
