As steam generators are in a different league to standard irons so I will not compare the 2 items with each other.
Overall, I do like the product.
It does have the usual humming noise, but it's bearable, not too loud or often. The water tank is fixed (which I prefer personally). The power, and steam generating are excellent. It's not the prettiest...(or ugliest!), but my husband considers Bosch to be a reliable trustworthy name that have well engineered and built products, so I went with his opinion. (I'm happy as long as I wasn't down-graded to a standard iron again!)
Three things I don't like about it, nothing major, just niggles.
1) you can't stand the iron on it's heel. It either needs to sit on the ironing board plate down....probably shortening the life of the cover. Or back onto the rest on the pain generator. Possibly just a small thing - but it's taking some getting used to.
2) once it's on a flat surface it's a little tricky to get your fingers in anywhere underneath to get a good grip to lift. Maybe not an issue for someone with big hands?
3) the power cable tucks away fine. But the steam cable, although has a shaped area at the front to clip it, just doesn't compact it up as well as my previous steam generator - which was discontinued.
