This is a most efficient iron, easy to control,fast to heat up ,non drip, descales quickly & easily.

I loved the feel of this iron, but I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known it didn't have an automatic safedty cut-off. I did think it was a bargain price for an iron with this feature, but the Amazon description definitely states that it cuts out after a period of inactivity; sooner if left face down.
To be fair, Amazon gave me an immediate refund, but I am surprised to see that this feature is still in the description. I'm surprised none of the other reviewers mentioned it.
Anyway, I managed to find another Bosch iron which does have the auto cut off - the 5630. For once this was cheaper elsewhere, but I remain a loyal Amazon customer as their customer service is great.

Amazon Verified Purchase
Brought this product on the strength of reviews but after 6 weeks and very little useage had to return the same, the iron would not get hot enough, water would spill out, and on three occasions the iron triggered a blow out on the main fuse box, in my opinion it was not fit for purpose.

Excellent product
Bought to replace a 3 year old Bosch iron which died on us recently. The anti scale feature is important in hard water areas such as Northampton. Light and easy to use.
