The PSB Expert is suitable for demanding applications. The 2-speed gearbox ensures a high level of versatility and power. The new compact design offers a robust aluminium housing and improved ergonomics for comfortable work and safe handling. Whether hole-sawing, stirring or drilling large diameters, the PSB Expert always has the right solution. The PSB 1000-2 RCE gets all the jobs done: drilling holes (especially in masonry up to 20 mm diameter), screwdriving or drilling in wood or steel. The Bosch PSB 1000-2 RCE comes with a powerful 1000 watt motor that ensures effortless impact drilling in masonry, and rotary drilling in wood and metal.

High-Speed Drill

The rotational speed of the PSB 1000-2 RCE varies between 50 and 1,100 rpm (first gear) and 50 to2,800 rpm (second gear). Fast removal of masonry dust and other waste drilling material is just one of its advantages. The wide application spectrum includes materials such as wood and steel. The PSB 1000-2 RCE allows drilling diameters with high precision. The selector on the top of tool lets the user switch between rotary drilling or impact drilling.

  • Maximum drilling diameter in masonry: 20 mm
  • Maximum drilling diameter in steel: 16 mm
  • Maximum drilling diameter in wood: 40 mm

The speed can be pre-selected with the help of the pre-selection wheel on the top of the tool for constant speed regardless of the load and handling.

Two-Speed Gearbox

Two-speed gearboxes provide an impact drill with far greater versatility. Use low speed with high torque in first gear, such as hole-sawing or drilling large diameters, and high speed with reduced torque in secondgear for working with smaller drilling diameters.

Intelligent Bosch Electronic: Optimal Power for Every Application

Bosch Electronic allows variable speed using the trigger switch with fingertip control of the speed from maximum. This allows for precise starting of the hole being drilled followed by rapid drilling at full speed.

Auto-Lock

The Auto-Lock system is an innovative development for hammer drills for tool-free drill bit changes. The drill spindle automatically locks the drill once it comes to a stop. The user only has to turn the drill’s chuck, and can therefore change accessories more quickly and easily than with any other fixing system available.

Lightweight and Ergonomic

The low weight of 2.8 kg and ergonomic slim-line design gives added user comfort for effortless drilling and fatigue free working. Furthermore the isolated aluminium housing of the PSB 1000-2 RCE ensures extreme robustness and long life of the tool.

User Comfort

Softgrip gives the user a better grip and greater control of the machine for more safety while working. The tool comes with a 4 metre cable with a hanger on the sleeve for higher convenience and better storage.

I have a number of Bosch tools, mostly their blue Professional range, because of their German build quality and well thought out design and function. The PSB 1000-2 RCE does not disappoint. It feels good in the hand(s) and the 'controls' are excellent. I particularly like the quick-release chuck, which saves an incredible amount of time and effort. The 'motor speed' dial is excellent too. I've used this to drill through bathroom tiles [at ultra-slow speed) and the bottom of a 250-year-old mortar (5 inches thick) with great success. The motor is also relatively quiet, too, and with sound being an energy, this also reduces user fatigue. Thoroughly Bosch - thoroughly recommended.

I've owned quite a few drills over the years and currently have three. This is an excellent product. It's powerful and yet not too heavy, it's very well made and built for heavy domestic use. It's very good value for the power rating. I use an 18V Bosch cordless for most jobs but when that won't do, this is my go to weapon of choice. Drilling multiple holes concrete is easy with it.

I needed to replace an old B&D drill and this has turned out to be an excellent alternative. Very powerful in both modes, hammer or ordinary drilling. The keyless chuck is the best I have used and can be operated one handed.

To be frank it is early days for a full and accurate review. However, I have used this on a fence and gate building session with mixed results. As a Bosch product it is a solid piece of kit with the exception of the outrageously crappy plastic depth guage. My one issue is the keyless chuck which I shall comment on later in this review. The variable speed is great and I love this feature, speed being controlled with the top dial and finger pressure on the trigger. Using a variety of bits on timber equals no problems and a pleasure to use, absolutely no problems with timber drilling. Drilling concrete and brick is a different matter. The keyless chuck has failed to grip the bit, not big ones either as the most problematic has been a 6mm bit. I tried other 6mm bits on the off chance that it was a bit issue in some way but once again the keyless chuck slipped or loosened several times. The most frustrating thing about this is that the keyless chuck actually clicks when wound tight unto the bit and appears to lock up tight just right and thus gives a false sense of it being correct. What makes it worse is that the actual brick and concrete use was only about 10% of the use to date with a 50% loosening rate. Overall, at the moment, I am off the mind that a less expensive product would achieve the same results

What can you say, another brilliant Bosch tool. Since moving into a house that is being renovated it has been invaluable. Highly recommended. Thank you.

It's nice and heavy and solid, with a large range of speeds and convincing hammer action. I intend to use it mainly for wood, with only occasional forays into brick. I installed some rawlplugs the other day, and everything went well. The symbols (e.g. drill or hammer) take a bit of getting used to, as they aren't obvious without the instructions.

The biggest let-down is the pathetic depth stop - plastic, slightly warped from new, and I don't think it's good enough for the job. It should be made of solid metal and be non-slip. As it is, using it, drilling has to be slow and careful, so that you don't drill too deep by putting too much pressure on the stop and bending it or pushing it through its clamp, which shouldn't be possible but is. One might fault the drill for containing rather a lot of plastic in general. Otoh, modern plastics are often as tough as metal, but a lot safer where electricity is concerned. The depth stop is the only "accessory" you get - if you want a sawdust catcher, you have to buy the RCA model. You don't get any drill bits - that might have been a nice extra.

So 4 stars (upgraded from 3) mean "I like it, but...". It had better last at least 30 years or I'll be very angry!

The Bosch PSB 1000-2 RCE Inpact drill that I purchased recently has already seen much use. I bought it to replace a worn out Black and Decker Professional Hammer Drill which has serviced me well for many years. The combination of a powerful drill at medium weight was what I wanted, and that is exactly what the Bosch drill delivers. I am very pleased with the product.
