The old saying "you get what you pay for" springs to mind with this tool.
I've used Bosch power tools for over 20yrs and they are expensive but they are excellent and its no different with this glue gun.
I've used a small bostic glue gun which worked ok as long as you liked hot glue everywhere and I recently bought and sent back two Stanley (heavy duty) glue guns that didn't work at all.
So in the end bought this glue gun and when it arrived I wondered why I'd even bothered with any other make just for the sake of a tenner!
The first thing that struck me was the size, this is a proper glue gun not a toy, the build quality is what you'd expect of anything with the name Bosch on it.
The glue comes out in a thin localised bead only when the trigger is pressed making it so much easier to achieve a neater job.
I am happy to recommend this tool and for £20 you won't find anything much better

PS: This glue gun takes 11mm glue sticks so if you're moving up from a 7mm glue gun you'll need to buy some 11mm sticks.

This is as good as any other Bosch power tool etc. Good build, good quality and works as described. They could supply a few more glue sticks with it which is my only minor whinge (though bought a large pack of sticks from Aldi)

This is the second Bosch glue glun I have bought in the last 12 months, however this is an accalaid rather than criticism. My glue gun has to work very hard, and is used for several hours at a time glueing everything from wood to rope. Its a tough tool, and used correctly does the job well. Just be sure to but the right sized glue sticks which, in my case makes the regular and rapid replacement a much easier task.

This Bosch glue gun is very reasonably priced, obviously from this big name brand you get fantastic build quality so it should last for years and years, the trigger is very strong so won't snap easily like most budget glue guns.

When using the glue gun, it heats quite quickly usually around 4-6 mins. Once heated you can unplug it from the socket to use further away from the wall socket for around another 6-10 minutes depending on the room or outdoor temperature before having to heat for a bit longer.
The long nozzle provides you with accurate gluing while also disbursing a very decent amount of glue quickly if needed, other nozzles can be obtained through Bosch if you required a standard nozzle (I don't think there would be any need to though as the supplied one is very versitile).

The glue gun can be left on for a very long time before the nozzle will start to drip with glue (it's a very small amount though), but the non-drip mechanism works a heck of a lot better than any other glue gun I have previously owned and used.

The only downside to the glue gun and is the reason for the loss a 5 star rating is it has no status light at all, so you can't see if it is on or not which can be annoying if your plug socket is hidden from view.

Overall a great product, certainly the best glue gun I have used by a country mile! and you can definatly feel it has been built to last. Highly recommended !

The PKP18E delivers everything someone would expect from such a tool. Lightweight, responsive (ready for work in less than 5 minutes), with an ergonomical design are pretty obvious qualities. If it follows the line of my other BOSCH tools it has to be a long lasting device (I can't bet on that though, as I've been using it for a couple of weeks only). I have to mention I pure and simple love the anti-dripping feature, something new for my experience with glue guns. My hand is happy as well, as the device doesn't turn hot no matter how long I use it. At last but not at least, the extremely well set thermostat included allows the user to let the gun plugged in for the entire day with no headaches at all. One funny thing: I bought the gun from Amazon.CO.UK to be sent by air mail to Romania, just to find it just made a two way trip to UK, as it's proudly marked "Made in Romania" :)

A really excellent, multi-purpose glue gun. I bought this because it has a more easily directed nozzle than most hot-melts and it has proved to be a very good choice. It heats up quickly and evenly on a long job (I get through a lot of glue sticks, so it's important that it can cope)and has excellent trigger properties and a decent flex length - you'll still need an extension lead, though, if there's not a very handy plug. It is also more robust than other guns I have tested - which you would expect with a Bosch nametag. It also takes basic hot-melt gluesticks which are widely available. A very good friend in the tool kit.

I have had numerous glue guns and had lost faith in them due to buying glue guns that "looked the part" but ended up being of poor build quality and ineffective in the delivery of glue.
Still holding boxes of glue sticks acquired over the years I kept hunting because the principle is good and very useful.
Because the design of the Bosch glue gun, against some of it's competitors, did not inspire me, I had passed it bye until I recently noted the good reviews for this product on Amazon.....so I took a chance.
Result!....this has been a very good "best buy" for me and I am confident will be for you.
The metal delivery nozzle is approx. 25mm long by 3mm dia...which has a nice soft black silicon shroud as it joins the main body This nozzle design allows you to see exactly where you are placing the glue accurately and can also be used to remelt glue just applied.
Once the glue gun is up to it's very hot temperature a gentle squeeze of the trigger allows the glue to flow smoothly and stop on release of the trigger.Importantly constant operating temperature is maintained whilst switched on, by the guns circuitry,..it is always ready and a dream to use!
On top of every thing else it also has a good quality 2 metre butyl rubber/silicon mains lead.
After switching it off from the mains supply you can even continue to use the glue gun for a while afterwards....fantastic!
To sum up..... this tool is one of those that, "if I broke or lost it, I would replace it", without hesitation.
If there was a case of "looks can be deceiving" this is one....it may look dated but boy does it do the job well!
....and ladies, this is one of those "boys toys"...penknife,torch,trainset, glue gun!
