Product Description

The PMF 180 E All Rounder Deluxe Set--with 24 accessories that make the All Rounder even more versatile

The Bosch PMF 180 E All Rounder has a wide range of applications from cutting and sawing wood, plastic and metal to sanding, scraping and de-grouting. Even in the tightest of corners and edges it can be used thanks to its ergonomic design and handy accessories.

The PMF 180 E is easy to use because you have a secure grip on the tool at all times. Plus, the fully variable speed allows you to match the working speed to the material. The 180 watt motor provides high power for all its applications. The more you work with it, the more you will appreciate its abilities: its handiness and power, and its maneuverability in tight spaces. You are sure to come up with countless ways of using the PMF 180 E.

This PMF 180 E Deluxe Set contains the All Rounder tool, plus 24 valuable accessories that would cost much more to add to your toolbox at a later date. These accessories allow you to complete scores of DIY jobs with the All Rounder. For example, you can cut through metal pipes or protruding nails quickly with the included metal saw blades, or remove glue easily with the rigid scraper. You can even cut wall tiles, make grooves into walls for cables--you can practically cut into almost anything.

Make useful cuts in wood with the Bosch PMF 180

Cutting is a doddle with the All Rounder

Plunge cutting in wood

You can make a variety of useful cuts with the plunge cut saw blades for wood: make cutouts in door frames, or in furniture to access wall outlets. This Deluxe Set contains the 32x40mm and 10x20mm wood blades, and the 32x40mm hard wood blade.

The PMF 180 E can cut in areas that conventional machines can’t reach

Cutting in metal

Even metal can’t stop the PMF 180 E--with the 10x20mm metal cutting blade included in this Set, you can cut metal items such as protruding nails and pipes flush to the surface. You can even use the metal cutting blades to make plunge cuts into plasterboard for power sockets. You’ll be able to do this without great effort--but with the highest precision.

The BiM Segment saw blade enables you to get into border areas that conventional machines can’t reach

Cutting in tight spaces

With the PMF 180 E and the Wood and Wood/Metal Segment Blades included, you can trim the bottom of the door architrave skirting after laying laminate and hardwood flooring. Simply place the blade on an upturned piece of flooring, and gently cut the architrave, remove the off cut, and slide under your flooring for a perfect finish.

The BiM Segment Serrated Knife allows you to work flush to the work surface giving you precise angle cuts

Another cutting accessory available to purchase separately is the Segment Serrated Knife. The depressed design of this blade allows you to work flush to the work surface, enabling you to cut insulation and soft materials to fit precisely into the space required. Manufactured using BiMetal technology, the Serrated Knife Blade will give a very long service life.

The Universal Groove cutter attachment allows for easy removal of joint-filling compounds

The Universal Groove Cutter attachment (sold separately) allows for easy removal of joint-filling compounds like plastics and silicone. Cutting on all three sides, and to a depth of 50mm, it is able to reach into the tightest corners with ease because of the All Rounder’s tapered body shape and the Groove Cutter’s narrow cutting tip. It can also cut common soft-insulation materials, like Flumroc.

Sawing made easy

Use TheTC Riff segment saw blade to cut through tile or remove grout

Tiled areas in and around your home are often subject to damp, and mould can grow between the tiles, especially on tile grout. The PMF 180 E is the perfect tool for repairing this problem. Simply fit the Tungsten Carbide Riff Segment Blade included in the Set, and run this along the grout between the tiles. The grout is quickly and simple removed, ready for you to re-grout.

The PMF 180 E is extremely lightweight and handy, so you can achieve impressive results when sanding without having to apply a lot of feed pressure

Sanding: for the perfect finish

The PMF 180 E ensures perfect surfaces, because its sanding attachment turns it into a powerful and low vibration detail sander. Simply fit the Delta sanding head to sand in small, or awkward, hard-to-reach areas that other sanders can’t reach, such as in between stair banisters or on window frames. And because the PMF 180 E is extremely lightweight, you can achieve impressive results without having to apply a lot of feed pressure. What's more, clean-up is easy because the PMF 180 E has a dust extraction port for connecting to a vacuum cleaner. This Set includes 6 red wood sanding sheets, 6 white paint sanding sheets, and the Delta sanding head.

Scrape paint, underlay, and other rough household surfaces with the scraper blade

The PMF 180 E is also designed for scraping, even in hard-to-reach areas. The two scraping accessories in this kit, the long flexible scraper and the short rigid scraper, can be used for all kinds of scraping jobs: remove carpet adhesives, paint from glass, and stubborn stickers. The short scraper can even be used for removing dried putty from window frames.

Oscillation: the secret to the All Rounder’s success

The PMF 180 oscillates at an angle of + or - 1.4 degrees

The technical secret behind the versatility of the PMF 180 E is its oscillation principle: the accessories do not move in a circular motion, but rather oscillate at an angle of plus or minus 1.4 degrees in each direction. This oscillating movement can occur up to 20,000 times a minute, achieving safe, effective cutting.

Change accessories quickly and easily with the handy angle function

All tool accessories for the PMF 180 E can be fixed at the appropriate angle with no risk of slipping. Tool changes are easy with a single fixing bolt.

After much deliberation over whether to buy the original Fein multimaster I chose this far cheaper option and have absolutely NO REGRETS whatsoever.
I have used it for flooring, removing coving, repairing badly plastered walls, detailing work, tiling and it has never let me down. The accessories in this kit would cost a fortune over the Amazon asking price and I would say represent excellent value compared to the basic option which only contains the sander pad, plunge cut and bimetal semicircular blade.

You can get the generic sanding sheets much cheaper in the pound shops and on ebay, so don't pay the extortionate prices asked for Bosch originals, as there really is no difference. The one thing I would criticise is the flimsiness of the sanding pad which utilises the velcro hook and loop fastening to hold the sanding sheet in place. I have found that when detailing the pad can easily burn through and wear down especially on the apices which you mainly use. Bosch have changed the design over the past 6months with a softer white rubber beneath the hook pad but it's still prone to burn through so be careful and keep the pressure light and the speed low when doing the detailing work.

I have owned this tool for less than a week. I am not a professional, but would say I am a fairly competent DIYer. My reason for purchasing this tool was to cut solid wood flooring in front of a fireplace opening so that a hearth could be laid. I do not know anybody who owns this tool already, so took a bit of a gamble buying it, however it was very competitively price (69.95) at a local major DIY store here in Ireland and I just happened to spot it on my weekly recce of the tools area!

My first impressions are that this is an incredibly useful tool. The fact that the blade oscillates rather than rotates means that you can work in very tight spaces. It also does not suffer from the 'grab' that say an angle grinder would. It is also a tool that requires no practice to get a very proffessional result. I made a test cut using some old skirting, then just went for it cutting a 16" x 55" recess in a very expensive wood floor! The result was perfect with the tool cutting right up to the chimney breast with no problem at all. Even the wife was impressed. I have since found several other sanding and cutting uses for it as we are in the process of refurbishing a house. The tool is very easy to control and comes with several useful accessories plus a sturdy carry case.

Pros: No experience needed, very little dust, very thin and accurate cutting, faster sanding than a standard delta sander, incredibly light and easy to control, good price

Cons: Accessories seem a little difficult to find, does not fit in carry case when the plunge cutter is fitted (this really is nit picking)

Would I buy it again? Absolutely - I don't know what I did before I had it!

Bought this to help laying laminate flooring. The grand plan was to trim skirting board - old house, old plaster, too much mess to remove skirting then replace it and we didn't want to start something we couldn't finish reasonably quickly. On reflection it was maybe a bit ambitious but probably still easier/tidier than removing it all.
It took a while with the supplied blades but once into the swing of things it worked fine. Had to get more blades as the supplied ones started to wear down although with practice and less hitting stone and nails they would last longer. Some reviews suggest they're expensive but do an internet search and you can get them at a price that I thought was fair.
It's certainly worth getting a face mask as it creates quite a bit of dust if you don't have some sort of extraction system.
Left or right handed, cutting in confined spaces? The blades change easily and can be fixed at various angles to make cutting easier.
All in all and excellent tool

If you are a reasonably competent DIY (or maybe even a beginner) this is an ideal tool for the right job.
The one star review of spares is woefully out of date - just look anywhere and spares can be obtained.
The report on danger when retightening - does anyone REALLY mess aroung with the sharp end of an electric device without unplugging - madness.
    So here goes...
I bought this to aid fixing laminate flooring around doors. I needed something easier than a handsaw to cut the architrave horizontally to allow the flooring to slide underneath. There is no doubt in my mind that it saved me a lot of time and my idea of buying this, rather than get someone else to come in, saved my a lot of money.
The two blades supplied are a very fine cut and I started cutting with the semi circular vibrating cutter (it does not revolve, just vibrates when cutting) and finished off, where needed, with the chisel-like attachment. Eventually they did blunt but are still usable after cutting out 2 doors both sides and another two on one side only. I also had to cut an awkward piece at the bottom of the stairs as well as undercutting the bottom stair around a bend slightly. The bottom stair has a curve and I didn't want to try and measure the curve so cut it approximatley and used the semi cicular tool to cut a curve made with a pencil line. I do have a jigsaw but this was fine for this particular job. I finished off in some parts using the tool vertically to cut my new flooring to a better matched shape. All in all 5 stars
    BUT
I thought... how about trimming the bottom of a door where it scraped across my new floor, and also against the kitchen floor tiles. Neither was a major problem but has annoyed me for ages.
