The Bosch MCM4100 is a poerful compact food processor. There are 2 speed settings and a pulse setting for accurate processing. There is an integrated accessories drawer so all your discs are saefly stored away. There is a 1.25 litre plastic liquidiser attachment for making smoothies. There is included a stainless steel chopping blade, plastic whisking disc, dough blade, stainless steel cutting disc both thich and thin. The shredding disc is reversible for coarse and fine shredding. There is also a french fry disc, citrus press and juice extractor so perfect for any chef's requirements.

Before buying this product, I looked at lots of reviews on Amazon, some were good, some weren't, and it took me a long time to make up my mind. I had a very old Kenwood processor which still just about worked, but it couldn't chop nuts up very small, which I really wanted a gadget to do. In the Which magasine, I read that the Bosch processor chopped nuts up well, so decided to risk it, despite the bad reviews. I am very pleased with it - it grates quicker and better than my old Kenwood (which must be about 20 years old), chops up nuts really well, and does all says it will. And it is much cheaper than any other processor I've seen! The instruction guide could be clearer, but with a bit of patience, it can be worked out.

I bought this to replace a large Kenwood processor that I have given to my daughter. It takes up less space than a toaster on your worktop, a lot of the parts fit in the drawer under the machine itself. I put the other parts in a small plastic basket about the size of a shoe box and they fit easily in my kitchen cupboard. It is as easy to clean as any other processor and the base is nice and smooth and easy to wipe over. The base is VERY firm on your worktop as the suckers underneath have serious grip!
I have made cookies, & quiches from the pastry to the filling. It made light easy pastry in seconds, grated the cheese well without too much waste. The sharp blade chopped onions & bacon fairly evenly, but you only need a second with the blade, too long and you would have mush! I have used the citrus juicer and found it excellent and easy to use, unlike one of the other reviewers. This processor is ideal for small to moderate amounts of food. I have also made coleslaw and it was so much nicer than the shop produced stuff, it was made in seconds using the grating and slicing disks. I have only had this for a couple of weeks and I would not be without it.

I can't believe some of the above comments. ,There's a whole review just about the juicer. How much juicing do you do? "Be prepared for it to take over a kitchen cupboard completely, and then some draw space as well". How big are your cupboards??
It's a food processor, not a washing machine. "But there is an accessory for everything"...erm, it's a processor...they come with various attachments.
"Machine very noisy"...A friend of mine has a Magimix, cost approx £280...my Bosch is far quieter she says.
I cannot praise this machine too highly. I have a very tiny kitchen and I do a lot of cooking/baking. It has transformed my routine completely.Does everything I ask of it.
It's Bosch, and they don't come much better. It's a Rolls Royce of a processor. It even looks stylish on my worktop, (not stuck in a cupboard).

Read all the Which reports on this machine and they are usually a solid guide to performance and value for money, In my opinion this time they got it very wrong. In theory this is an all rounder but is very disappointing in operation. First the good points - great price if you shop around, it looks nice and has internal space for some of the attachments. It chops to a satisfactory standard and makes dough OK. It's juicing capability is minimal because it uses a plastic grating blade as opposed to metal and the yellow centrifugal cage has a low capacity.
The yellow cage snatches viciously on start-up and can come off the drive because of loose fitting drive components leading to all kinds banging and bashing inside the machine. The citrus juicer is quite good until it decides to swivel anti-clockwise - thereby disengaging and stopping the machine over and over again. Whether this an outright flaw or some misguided safety overload system I am not quite sure. Realistically I should have known that at this price level you can't secure a top performer at all functions. I have lately bought a Kenwood K-Mix blender and a Breville JE4 juicer and both are vastly superior in quality and performance. You get what you pay for, and if you want an all round machine with quality results - look elsewhere, or better still accept that there are different machines for different tasks p quite rightly. Would I recommend this machine - No.

This processor was chosen after looking at the scores on Which? It does everything it says it does and it does it well, but there is an accessory for everything. Each time you use it, it's like a mechano assembly line to put it together for what you need it for. It is everything you need for chopping, squeezing, blending and mixing but that comes at a space grabbing price. Be prepared for it to take over a kitchen cupboard entirely and then some of your drawer space as well.

Chose this food processor after spending a lot of time looking at the competition. Have now had it for about 6 weeks.
Pros
- Price!
- The safety mechanism is simple and effective - needing the bowl and lid to lock into place before it will work.
- Stable in use.
- Reasonably quiet.
- Has a full range of attachments.
- I have used it to liquidise soup, chop fruit, veg and meat, make bread dough, scones, shortbread and pastry, and it has performed all these tasks very well.
- Replacement parts are a very reasonable price. (I know because we dropped and broke the lid!)
Cons
- if storage space is in short supply there are a lot of attachments to find room for.
- As many others have commented, the instruction book leaves a lot to be desired. However, if like me, you have never had a food processor before and need tips on how to use one, try downloading an instruction manual for another make as it will teach you the basics.

I think I like it
