Product Description

Product Description

The Bosch KEO is a compact and lightweight reciprocating garden saw powered by an integral 10.8 volt lithium-ion battery. It has been designed to fill the gap between secateurs and chainsaws, where the usual alternative for cutting back medium-sized branches would be a handheld pruning saw. It is lightweight and features a detachable A-grip hook for improved performance even on unsupported branches. The unique A-hook removes the need for a second hand to support the branch while cutting.

Clean Cutting

The KEO’s Swiss precision blades provide a clean cut, and the Bosch SDS system makes blade changing easy and tool-free. The cutting diameter achieved can be up to 60 mm with the A-grip hook attached, and 80 mm without. It is designed to suit a wealth of different cutting applications around the house and garden, using any of the blades from the Bosch ‘All-Purpose’ saw range.

Comfortable and Lightweight

The KEO has been ergonomically designed to be perfectly balanced and has a soft grip handle, making it comfortable to use. It is also lightweight at only 900g without the hook, and just 1.1kg when the hook is attached. Its simple one-handed operation enables awkward branches to be cut back without the need for assistance in reaching both hands or arms into a tree or oversized bush.

Available Accessories

The KEO’s SDS system allows easy, tool-free blade changes at the push of a button, for maximum versatility. Blade sets are available in packs of either 3 or 5 for cutting through wood, plaster board and metal, depending on which blade has been selected. There are even flexible blades for ‘flush’ cutting.

 Powered by lithium ion technology
Powerful Lithium-Ion Battery

The KEO is powered cordlessly by a built-in 10.8 volt lithium-ion battery which fully charges in just three hours using a simple hi-fi-style charger. This cordless freedom allows maximum manoeuvrability without the worry of cutting through cables.

  • No self-discharge: lithium-ion batteries retain their charge while stored (in cool, dry conditions), so the KEO is always ready to use, even if it hasn’t been used in a while.
  • Compact and lightweight: lithium-ion batteries are 50% lighter than conventional batteries--but with all the power.
  • No memory effect: lithium-ion batteries retain their full charge capacity and can be recharged up to 4 times more than standard batteries.
  • Fast charging: Say goodbye to 24-hour charge times- the KEO’s lithium-ion battery is fully charged in 3 hours
Bosch Guarantee

The KEO comes with a 2-year parts and labour guarantee.

People use and enjoy their gardens in different ways. Some people just want to recuperate from their busy day-to-day lives and appreciate every minute they get to relax. Others take great care in looking after their plants and outdoor space. Whether you enjoy alfresco dining, kicking a ball around with the children, or taking pride in a well-maintained garden, Bosch garden tools ensure effortless gardening that will help you enjoy your outdoor living area. 4.0 out of 5 stars Bosch keo cordless saw 29 July 2012
    By J. Li
My partner bought this saw for general garden use. It was efficient and we have used to cut a lot of tree branches which would otherwise cost us a whole lot money to get a gardener to do it. It was helpful for us to saw wood for the kitchen work too.

The main criticism is the battery connector. it was flimsy and not easy to use. after two months' use, it stops charging today. We used it once a week for about 1 hour each time. I tried to find out how to fix the problem. It is under 2 year guarantee. where can i find the Bosch outlet and customer helpline? it is not on the amazon website. Please advice.

I was given Amazon vouchers, I used them to buy this item which has proved to be very useful. However it would be much improved if the battery was removeable and a second battery provided.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very useful saw 11 Jan 2012

I used this to cut large branches from a pear, apple and berry tree. What I really like about it is its small blade allows me to cut very close to the trunk , so I don't have an ugly stump jutting out. Trying to do the same with a manual saw is much more difficult and results in a lot of scuff marks and additional damage to nearby branches etc.

I don't bother with the branch holder and after use grease the blade and piston with WD40 after cleaning both. Only criticism I have is the 10.8V Li-Ion battery doesn't last that long and it would be great if Bosch could make this part of their 'Power4All 18V' range. Maximum cut was a 9cm branch from a tough Apple tree. Took some time sawing back and forth and used up ~2/3 of the charge.

Also bought the 5-pack of blades for it and used the metal blade to cut off the top of a shelf, really impressed with how easy and clean the cutting was - I marked and then put down a line of lubricating oil. Held in 2 small vices. You can also consider the Bosch Blue Mini Sabre Saw - the GSA 10.8 as it has the 10.8V battery packs, though more expensive.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bosch Keo saw 11 May 2012
Saw battery not man enough for nornal use and as you cant remove the battery to charge it you have to wait 90 mins for a full charge (or buy 2 saw's!). Have to bring the whole tool indoors to protect the battery from cold. If it had 2 bigger capacity batteries that could be removed for charging (like a cordless drill) this would have been more suitable for me. Ebay here it comes!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not enough juice 16 Feb 2012
We bought this saw after seeing it in the shop and it seems ideal for what we were looking for. We live in France and all of our trees are pollarded every year which results in loads of new growth which has to be cut right back each year. None of the branches are thicker than your little finger but its a long job with secateurs up a ladder..
We got started and within 30 minutes had to stop because it had run out of batterie. It takes 3 hours to re charge and so that was the pruning finished for the day. Because the batterie is integral you can't have one on charge while you are using the other, and of course its cordless so you can't resort to the mains while waiting for the batterie to re charge.
It seems a very strange that a tool that is ideal for its job has such a poor batterie life. and thatBosch KEO Cordless Li-Ion Garden Saw the batterie takes so long to re charge. I would find it hard to recommend this especially as its not cheap.

    Pros:
    - Quality
    - Very easy to use
    - No more powerful than using a hand saw, depending on the type of wood, how dry etc.
    - easy to change blades

    Cons:
    - No case
    - Battery very poor, lasts about 10 - 15 minutes, despite being fully charged before first use and since. The most I have ever got was 20 minutes. For this reason I wish I hadn't bought it!

If Bosch could improve the battery and power, or have a removable battery, so that one could charge, while using the other, this would get at least 4 stars.

3.0 out of 5 stars Is it really a bosch? 1 Nov 2013
    Verified Purchase
Disappointed with this - not as powerful as I had hoped. Useful for cutting in awkward situations, tree roots etc, but limited use for pruning/cutting firewood since battery doesn't last long enough (it has only one un-removeable battery). Expected better from Bosch.
