Product Description

Product Description

The IXO lithium ion screwdriver is the perfect tool for all your household chores and the battery will never discharge. Lithium ion technology helps to make the battery in the IXO extremely small. The result - the IXO is lighter and handier than any other cordless screwdriver.

The BOSCH IXO Screwdriver was the first DIY tool with a lithium ion battery and this improved version builds on the great success of its predecessor with added features included improved styling and a built-in spotlight so you can always see what you are working on.

The IXO maintains most of its initial battery capacity even when it isn't used for long periods of time (mobile phone technology). The innovative battery technology from Bosch does not discharge between use like normal Cordless Tools. This means cordless users can have the best of both worlds - the mobility of a cordless machine and power when you need it!

Ideal for work in small places and for tradesman to carry around in their pocket. DIY enthusiasts can conveniently store this in their kitchen cupboard. Weighing just 300g, the IXO has been ergonomically designed to offer practical handling and is an easy solution for all screwdriving tasks. The IXO also has a unique LED directional display showing you which direction the IXO is turning. Revolutionary technology to suit your lifestyle - Power when you need it!

I've had my Ixo for over a year now and am completely satisfied with it.

As I'm a computer technician, it tends to get a lot of relatively light work, but when putting together some (lots!) of flat-pack furniture, I make sure it's never far away. Even putting up smoke alarms required just the Ixo (I used the supplied drill bit for the pilot holes in the ceiling then the driver bits for screwing the detectors in place).

Being small, it's easily stowed - and the charge seems to last for ages giving impressive torque when needed. Chances are, you'll ring the head on the screw before the drill stops.

As well as the supplied bits, I've used an 8-inch 'snake' extention (a bit attachment) which allows driving around corners and into awkward places - again, no problems.

Honestly, it's the best purchase I've made in a long time and is perfect for light to medium work. Perhaps not for heavy jobs but then you wouldn't have been looking at it for that in the first place would you? :)

Highly recommended!

Contrary to the previous reviewer I couldn't be happier with my Ixo. It has become the most well used tool in my house and as I have just moved home and bought a new house that's needed a lot of DIY that's no mean feat! My father in law also loved the little IXO when he came round to help out with bits of work. I think he was a little sceptical that it was gimmicky at first but soon got to love it.
The little light on the end of the screwdriver is particularly helpful at helping you see when screwing underneath the sink or in tight corners and he liked this also. So much so that my partner and I just bought him his own IXO for father's day - needless to say he way delighted and uses his lots too.

lovely to hold battery keeps power extremely well even when kept in garage for several months off charge. Plenty of supplied useful bits. Only downside often have to hand finish to get good tightness but gee saves all the the hard work prior so I don't mind giving an extra 1/2 turn by hand

I bought this on impulse and have found it very convenient to use but it does run out of charge fairly fast. Even when we were putting it on charge between screws we found that it ran out of juice after about 50 screws when flooring the loft with chipboard. The torgue is very good and when properly charged the screws did not need finishing off by hand. It does not have sharp edges to leave sore patches on you hands and it drops into the charger nicely without having to be carefully aligned.

It is true, as another review pointed out, that it is a bit easy to knock the forward/reverse switch.

Since buying this for myself, my father and brother in law have also bought on for themselves once they had seen how good this is.

Nice and compact fit in the hand with the comfort to be able to use it for a long time. I rarely use another screw driver now. The charger is excellent and it charges from flat very quickly

As there is a lithium battery in it it has 'no memory' and so can be recharged when it has had any amount of use from just a few screws to a full days use.

Yes, the direction changing button is easy to catch, which is a slight negative, but this is still head and shoulders above any screwdriver, or indeed any tool i've ever used.

Absolutely essential for DIY.

I bought myself one of these a couple of years ago and it is a very powerful and versatile little beast.
HOWEVER.
Most good bits of kit have a flaw and I have found on occasion that the trigger of this unit has been iffy to say the least in operation.
Squeeze and drill, squeeze and drill, squeeze and screw, squeeze...and squeeze...and squeeze darnit!!!! release, squeeze and it turns slowly....

That trigger switch lets down a screwdriver that otherwise would be a credit to the Bosch name, and that is a very good name indeed.

This is an ideal tool for singleton females. It's compact size fits neatly into small hands and can get into small spaces easier than some of the other, bigger and heavier products on the market. Great for those emergencies when there is never a man around (though not all). The accessories with it cover just about every type of screw or fitment and are always to hand. It's powerful enough for most jobs around the house and garden. I love it.
