The Bosch Rotak 43 LI’s Lithium-ion battery’s performance will vary according to the conditions of the grass. If it’s too wet, too long or covers a large area, this will affect the running time of the battery but in ideal conditions where the grass is short, fine and dry, running times could be up to 30 minutes. The Rotak 43 Li’s 36V/2.6Ah Lithium-ion battery should give 500-700 cycles of life, which should be anywhere between 5 to 10 years of regular usage.

I am very please with this mower. It is easy to use not too heavy and much quieter than my petrol mower. I chose this larger model because it had 2 batteries and I was very glad that I did as I have quite a large garden and have to change the battery half way through mowing. The battery charges very quickly but it would be a nuisance to have to wait for a recharge before I can finish mowing. The mower does mow reasonable close to the edges but still leaves an edge which needs strimming. I would recommend this mower to anybody.

We brought mains electric version of this mower 2 years ago and found it great apart from the usually cable issues. So last year we brought a petrol mower but found we were still using the Bosch. So sold both the old mowers and brought the double battery version of the Bosch (should of done this last year)
the 2 batteries are important we have a medium sized garden and to do both front and back lawns we need both batteries, its light weight easy to manoeuvre. NB if you have not seen on other reviews- some people moaned that it did not do a close enough cut -if you remove the little blue plastic stopper by the side of the lever to lower the cut you get a low cut. (if you want it that low) I know this mower is more money than some others but well worth the investment.

Light, easy to use, practical even in Oz. Worth the money. Hope the lightweight plactics a durable, though. NB: No Bosch warranty in Australia for this product!!
Pros:
No more running out of fuel or having to mix 2 stroke. No more fumes or noise. So easy that all the family use it, even reluctant teens! (The old 2 stroke was very idiosyncratic and needed a deft touch to start and mow properly). This is because it is very light and easy to manoeuvre. In the Oz context, my concerns pre-purchase were about practicality (battery charge life in particular). While it is a compromise, I find that the two batteries still work well for our block (1,000 m2) with a big bungalow. The first time out it took <3 battery charges, ie. one slight delay after battery #2 discharged while waiting for battery #1 to recharge). I hope to make it on 2 charges next time using a higher mower height - the above was on the lowest and included using the catcher. Another concern was power, but this is not an issue. It is similar to corded electric mowers I've used and on normal grass as good as my older Victa 2 stroke. The delivery was prompt and it was interesting to track the delivery around the globe in real time. It arrived less than a week after I ordered it. Amazon offered me great service both during the purchase and in resolving the hic-up that I found when I opened the carton (see below). Their response to my predicament has ensured that I will buy from Amazon again.
An unexpected bonus is that if you like extra security, the Rotak 43 LI is completely disabled by removing either the key and/or the batteries, which for me makes storage easier.
Cons:
Consider what you'll do if the goods arrive damaged. I only discovered a problem once I had spent 2 hours unpacking and assembling the mower. The normal response is to repack it and return it to Amazon. That was not going to be practical for me. I don't know how it happened, but my Rotak 43 LI was broken when I opened the carton. A potential disaster was averted when I found that the height adjusting lever mechanism to the back wheel that had broken, was accessible once I removed the wheel, and could be purchased here in Oz. A plastic component, it had broken but the missing piece was not in the carton, so it may have come like this from Bosch, or been damaged in transit. I don't know. Bosch when contacted had the part, but as they do not sell this model (only the smaller ones - can you believe this in the Oz market place, the land of the quarter acre block?) in Australia, they would not offer me warranty. Luckily when I contacted Amazon, they allowed me to fix it and credited me for my disbursement without any qualms at all.
