After my beloved Flymo finally gave up the ghost I was in a quandry as to what to buy as a replacement. I hunted high and low for an exact replacement Flymo but the model was no longer available.
Having read many reviews about the current Flymo models I soon realised that I would be looking at a rotary mower as the Flymo seemed pretty poorly represented.
After much studying of reviews I took the plunge and went for the Bosch.
I have a reasonably large uneven lawn and seriously considered a petrol mower which for a good brand is quite expensive probably starting at around £200 upwards for a cheap model. Then there is the weight - 30 odd kilos on average which is 3 times the weight of the Bosch and also the cost of fuel and oil.
Anyway, the Bosch was easy to assemble, the self tappers on the handle are exactly what they are and a bit of brute strength is required when tightening.
The grass box clips together and there is no difficulty doing this just apply some common sense.
The machine is easy and light to use and gives an excellent finish even to my undulating and curved lawn, and gives a clean finish to the edges.
If you need a new mower this is a definite must, well made and easy to handle.
If your looking for a bargain (sorry Amazon) B&Q are doing this model for £129 at the moment and if your parents have a Wednesday card you can get an extra 10% off - I paid £116.

I have owned a few mowers over the years, hover, cylinder and rotary. The hover were never very good, I like the stripe look which the hover mower can't do (even though the pretend to). This is why I have mostly bought cylinder mowers till now. Cylinders are great but do make for a high maintenance cost. (annual sharpening and setting etc) And up till now the rotary did the job but not very well. I'm getting on in years unfortunately, which makes a heavy cylinder hard work so I bought a new Bosch Rotack 43. It's wonderful!
Assembly was fairly easy apart from the grass box, that was quite difficult but got there in the end.
Everything else fits together very well. Now for the mowing. It really is the best I have ever owned, by far.
I get stripes and a brilliant cut. The grass box is easily big enough for my needs. The handle folding is very good and no bother at all. The height adjustment is easy too. Removing the grass box is a bit fiddly particularly when full but no big deal. In short I would recommend The Bosch Rotak 43 to anyone.

This is a pretty decent mower. I wanted to buy a petrol mower, just to be free of the cabling, but my wife wouldn't let me - I don't think she trusts me with combustible materials.

The mower is relatively easy to assemble - although there were a couple of moments where I was questioning the build quality (holes not punched out correctly, misaligned pieces, etc.) However, with a bit of determination and brute force, it went together fine.

I'm always unimpressed with the length of cable that comes with mowers, so I bought a 20m extension, which means that it now covers the garden perfectly well.

The Bosch cuts beautifully and evenly, with a very adjustable cut-height. When I first tried to mow a lawn that had been ignored for a few weeks, it struggled to cut its way through on a low setting. However, I simply reset the level to a more modest value, sliced through quickly and then went back over with a fine cut.

I find myself just walking at a steady pace, and it requires no effort (on my part) to cut the lawn. The mower will leave stripes on your lawn, so you can get the pretty pattern if that's what you want.

I find the mower to be very manoeuvrable, although when the grass box gets full it becomes quite heavy - a good clue that it's time to empty the thing!

The design of the grass box is such that the grass doesn't really want to effortlessly tumble out. I find it to be a bit too angular, which means that you have to dig around a bit to get all of it out. Having said that, it is a decent size, so you don't find yourself heading off to empty it every few seconds.

All in all, a perfectly reasonable mower that will enable you to cover the ground quickly and effortlessly.

This mower gives a good cut, to a reasonable width and gets very close to edges, but still leaves some grass if the edge is hard to rub-up tight against.
Some other write-ups mention the putting together of the grass-box, but this is only an initial task that with a bit of trying seems to be possible.
The flippers that tighten the handle into the upright position are a clever design and save having to locate and tighten screws when folding and opening the handle section. The loop that holds the cable and stops it from pulling away from the control on the handle is also a clever and simple design that works well.
This is a powerful mower that works well and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a mower with a reasonable cutting width.

My wife and I like this machine, it's lighter and quieter than our previous old, (but well loved) Flymo. We do have a couple of issues with it, nothing at all bad but we both feel that (compared to the Flymo) the collection bin isn't big enough and that the lawn stripes aren't quite as pronounced after mowing.
All in all though, a nice product.
