This chainsaw offers superb performance due to its high chain speed of 12 m/sec. It has the speed and power to cut through wood quickly, cleanly and is well balanced for comfortable use at any angle. It comes complete with a quick stop kick-back brake for maximum safety and a run-down brake for normal usage.
Power Source
The AKE 35-19S electric chainsaw is powered by an impressive 1900 watt Bosch motor giving a chain speed of 12m/sec for outstanding cutting performance.
Cutting System
This chainsaw comes with a 35 cm cutter bar with a sharp mono-chrome coated chain for easy and precise cutting. The kick-back brake operates in less than 0.1 seconds, enabling the chainsaw to stop 30 percent faster than safety standards recommend. The large steel gripping teeth allow for good leverage, accurate cutting and reduced possibility of kick-back.
Other Features
Weighing only 4.4 kg the AKE 35-19S is lightweight and able to be handled with ease and accuracy. It features simple, tool-free chain assembly and tension for convenience.

Never used a chain saw before but read all the danger warnings so was keen to buy a reputable brand with good safety mechanisms. The Bosch AKE-35 meets these criteria. Being electric, the saw is lighter and quieter than the petrol models but you do have to be very careful to keep the lead out of the way. Cut down my first tree very successfully with this. It goes through the wood like butter and cutting up the fallen tree into fire logs took minutes. Very pleased with my purchase. Only slight negative, especially for an inexperienced user, was setting up the chain the first time - hard to know if you've got it right (there are clear instructions but it feels fiddly and you imagine the worst - the chain flying off). However worked perfectly. Make sure you order a bottle of chain oil at the same time. You will need it if you plan to cut down more than one tree.

This saw is a vast improvement on the discontinued AKE 30. I have just had my old AKE 30 saw exchanged at no cost by Bosch for a new AKE 35. The old AKE 30 had certain design faults - i.e. the whole chain assembly could pull away as the main holding bolt was only moulded into the plastic case and the chain tensioning screw and engaging plate where not up to the job. Any inadvertant overtighenting of the main bolt could prove disasterous. Anyone who has one should examine it carefully to ensure that the main bolt is not lifting out. The no quible exchange saw now has a simple 'by hand' tensioner and a 'by hand' attachment nut for the chain assembly. The whole thing is easier to adjust and Bosch are clearly aware of the redesign needed to keep up their engineering reputation. I remain impressed by the lack of 'kickback' if you do make a handling error and the quick stop is very efficient indeed - good points on both models.

I bought this chainsaw to fell three trees in my garden. Putting together the saw for the first time is a little tricky, but the instructions are reasonably clear. The chainsaw cuts through smaller trees easily, and by following the advice given with the product, I have had no problems with kickback so far. Whilst a small amount of oil is included, you will need to buy some more as it is used up very quickly (within about 10 minutes). I would recommend buying additional oil when you buy the saw. Overall, I am very pleased with the product and it is so much quicker than a hand saw.
