The quality of lonely planet guidebooks is hardly debatable, but as a quick reassurance this one too feels well researched and thorough. Two big advantages for me are that it is specifically for Borneo unlike the rival Rough Guide (my normal go-to travel book) making it smaller and more day bag friendly. Secondly, the price was great, almost half what I would have paid in Waterstones over the counter. I suppose though the real proof of the pudding is in the eating though, so we'll see how Borneo goes this year!
