It was only recently that I first heard the music of Flaming Stars although, I understand, that they have been around for a while. I had the radio on while driving my taxi just to fill in the silence really before the next hire when Flaming Stars began to play their session for (I think) Radio 2. As soon as they started playing Treptower Park I had to turn the volume up. Listening to it again confirms its brilliance (atmospheric and suave its a well sung and well structured classic) This is the first new song I have heard for years that has had such an immediated impact.

I didn't want to pick up another hire until I had heard a little more and so pulled over to the side of the road. Listening to them again confirms to be that although they have a very cool London feel to them they have some German influences (and not just on Treptower Park) and their mood reminded me a little of Bowie in his Berlin phase, albeit Flaming Stars play more coventional songs.

I don't want to review each song on the album but can say that there is no filler product. The whole thing is really quite stunning in fact. And highly recomended.
