Having met the author ,I was aware of the exploits and the experience of the gentleman and a considerable amount of the content of the book. However, real life stories or perhaps one should match that with autobiographies of those who served their Country will always raise the hairs on one's neck when one considers the daring and the danger involved.

Allan Scott is very modest about his aerial exploits. I found this book pure escapism from work-a-day life: a real tonic. To sample at first hand just some of his life would be a liberating experience for most of us. It makes one yearn to spread ones wings. The narrative style is fluent and the book is hard to put down.

Interesting true story of a newly qualified pilot thrown into the deep end in the Battle of Britain at biggin hill, transferred to serve in Malta and them on escort duty in bombing raids over Germany.
