Book Description

2 April 2009 Concannon Sisters Trilogy (Book 2)

Brianna Concannon has buried a broken heart under her fair, calm exterior for ten long years. Jilted just weeks before the wedding to her childhood love, Bri turned her attention to keeping house for her family in County Clare. She's cooled her passions for anything other than tending to the guests at her inn, until one stormy night when the wind blows in a houseguest who could change everything . . .

Grayson Thane, the acclaimed thriller writer, has come to Ireland to research his next bestseller. It's the latest stop on Gray's travels: with a past of his own that he'd rather forget, Gray won't let anything tie him down. But he's soon possessed by the ghost stories of Ireland - and the fired-gold hair of his hauntingly beautiful host.

Stumbling across her late father's letters in an attic trunk, Bri is about to make a discovery that will stir dark family secrets and change her life for ever. But will Gray stay with her to weather the storm?

5.0 out of 5 stars Born In Ice 13 Sep 2003
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
Nora Roberts at her best. Her brilliant description of the West Coast of Ireland. She draws you in believing you are there in the countryside with her. Once started I found myself taking the book every where, loath as I was to put it down even for a moment.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great trilogy 11 May 2004
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I LOVE Nora Roberts and I've read a lot of her books. All of the plots are roughly similar, but there's nothing wrong with that. They're all enjoyable, well written, fun, exciting and don't take themselves too seriously.
I didn't care too much for the gloomy grey portrayal of Wales compared to the highly polished green of Ireland, I can only hope that Ms Roberts' visits Wales in another book and gives us the sunshine and romance that we deserve.
But if you're looking for something to read whilst in the bath with a glass of wine, or in a cosy armchair with a chocolate bar and cup of tea, then this is the author for you. It doesn't have to be this title, it could be any of hers.
Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars entertaining lively story 24 July 2011
By Mrs. A. Wright VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is the story of Brianna the second of the three Concannon sisters. Brianna who we first met in Born in Fire is a lovely character and as you read you know you would love to meet her and most certainly stay at her Bed and Breakfast. Saint Brianna is what her sister Maggie. sometimes calls her. The love story between her and writer Gideon Thane is touching, sad and laugh out loud funny at times. As ever the characterisation is wonderful and the plot twists and turns beautifully. I think the Irish Tourist Board should employ Ms. Roberts as she makes one wish to visit Ireland. Recommend it most heartily but would add if you read one of the books about the Concannon sisters you will read all three

3.0 out of 5 stars Typical Nora Roberts 23 Nov 2010
By Rebecca
Format:Paperback
Typical Nora Roberts, same basic plot lines. For me what makes these books worth reading is the charactors. The author has a knack for making the charactors seem real enough to step out of the pages and into your living room.
This book centers around Brie Concannon and Grayson Thane, an Irish B&B owner and a author of mysteries. Woven through the story the daily lives of Brie and Grayson, other members of the Irish community are introduced. The lilt of the Irish language is wonderful captured.

This is a good book, not one of Nora Roberts' best, but definitely worth reading if you are a fan. The book starts off as a bit of a cliche, the innocent woman meets untamed man, and goes on to tame him with her innocence, but as typical as this plot development is, the characters are well developed and are lovable people. However if you are not a fan of Roberts, I would suggest you try the Sea Swept and Inner Harbour series, as these books are written with much more skill and emotion, and the characters are drawn much better.
