as there are some great songs. True, Born may not be as good as Home or Songs from the Rain but in my humble opion it deserves more than three stars. Find the time is a a true classic. Thanks Guys.

Now a trimmed down three piece, the flowers haven't so much burst back onto the scene, but rather sneaked in through the back door with this number. To be honest Born isn't up to the standard of Home and Songs from the Rain, but is still worth a look. Stand out tracks for me were At Last and Find the Time, which leave you humming away for days.

HASH(0x92bc0954) out of 5 stars A Strong Return From A Lost Band 24 July 2001
By Michael Lima - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
After not having a new Hothouse Flowers album for several years, it's nice to discover that these guys haven't forgotten how to play. However, their time off has changed them. Nowhere are the sounds that make "Songs from the Rain" the snoozer that it is. Instead, the band has shed two members and adopted a harder edge to their music. At times, they veer dangerously close to U2 territory (especially on the title track, which could've come off of "Achtung Baby"). But, songs like Learning to Walk and Turn Up the Reverb have a unique energy that use to only be evident in the band's live performances. Overall, the album is a welcome reminder that these guys still have a lot of music in them.

HASH(0x92bc4a14) out of 5 stars undecided. 2 Nov. 2002
By pete - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I like Hothouse flowers for reason I hate Corporate rock bands like U2, REM, Oasis, Beck etc.... Because they do it for the love of music, and enjoyment not to prove something, change the world, or be force.
I LOVED "SONGS from the rain", it's a brillant cd with exception of one or two songs. I bought People when it came out and Home.
I like hothouse flowers like JAMES,Cowboy Junkies, old Crowded house and A-ha(see ne release) and not because they sound like U2 and corporate sounding. THEY sound ALIVE.(ok theys sound more Van morrison)
I love listening to Hothouse flowers because they never sound dated unlike other performers, based on traditional intruments rather than images or style/sounds. Something you can always go back to because it sound freash.
