Product Description

Product Description

Reg Kray is one of Britain's most notorious criminals. Together with his brother Ron, he rose through the ranks of London's East End gangland to run an evil empire of vice and villainy. Now, after 22 years behind bars, Reg wants to set the record straight. Here, in his own words, is the true story of his life with Ron, the chilling career of two street-wise kids who became standard-bearers of violence - from fire - bombings, to shootings and cold-blooded murder.

But here too is the inner voice of a one-time mobster who has learned compassion through his own struggle to come to terms with a life sentence. As Reg says, 'We were better at violence than the others...but I believe that our were better for the saving'.

A natural writer. Reggie covers old ground in this book and describes the life and times in the east end back in the 60's. The reader gets a first hand account of how the Kray brothers lived their lives to the full up until their imprisonments. Reggie gives a clear insight into the prison life he has led for the past 30 years. It is obvious that he has touched the lives of many people. The only thing wrong with this book is that it isn't long enough, maybe there will be more to come...

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, Reg gives an honest account of his experience in prison and recounts memories past with a raw and honest of what happened. The reader will be transported into the Kray's childhood and have a clearer understanding of war time east London, the socio-economic environment & an unsderstanding of unfolding events, police corruption, cover-up's and betrayal by those who traded truth with lies & turned Queen's evidence to save their own skins which led to the Kray's conviction and life sentence. Reg speaks candidly of his feelings, his attitude to life and insight into prison life for a Cat A convict. Informative, interesting, funny, shocking and also deeply sad in parts.

This has to be the best book I have ever read. Reg Kray talks about his early childhood, how he and Ron went to national service and refused to play by the rules. Born Fighter tells how Reg and Ron work there way up the crime ladder and bought Property after property in the Pub and club game. Reg goes into detail about the killings of George Cornell and Jack " The Hat" McVitie, aswell as other violent encounters. The book talks about the death of his wife Francis and how the Twins were sent down for the killings. Reg describes Prison life and how he handles it.
A great book any Kray or crime fan should get this NOW!
