This was the first George album I bought, and having acquired most of them now, it's still my favourite.
Starts out with Elmore James' 'Shake Your Money Maker' at high speed with howling slide guitar over the top.
Moves on through You talk too much and others into Chuck Berry's 'You can't catch me' which has the usual rock steady beat from rhythm section Jeff Simon and Billy Blough.
Side 2 has great party songs 'I'm Ready' & 'Treat her right' - political correctness be damned !
The whole thing is great - do yourself a favour

There is something olde worlde about this album. It takes me back to the fifties when rock n' roll was born. George sounds as I have never heard him before, He really sounds as if he is partying and enjoying himself.
A great album to play in the car, it will not disappoint.

I really love George Thorogood, there isn't such a thing as a bad album by this guy but this is an early album so its a mix of Elmore James, Chester Burnett, Chuck Berry and of course George's own penned compositions and it makes for one hell of an album. I cant say his best tracks are xxx because thats personal choice, but I can say none of the tracks are crap and thats the real truth. There are no fillers, no turkeys nothing but good bar room blues and you cant better that.

This is ok, but in the spectrum of Mr Thorogood's work, this isn't a shinning example for me. Worth having in your collection, but not something that pops into my mind as having to play it.
