This book held my interest all the way through - a page turner. It is written in the casual and interesting manner of a story teller, from the author's background through his traumatic experience and survival of a plane crash in the North Atlantic, rescue and the course his life took afterward. It is a good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Here's to the Irish ... for Saving Fred! 23 Oct 2007
By Judith Briles - Published on Amazon.com
Fred O'Caruso, aka Fred Caruso, has written a delightful tale of air crash of his plane and rescue off the shores of Ireland during World War II. His wonderful and quirky humor and his sharing of the adoption of him by the people of Ireland (where else would someone assume that everyone has an "O" in front of their names--no matter orgin, religion?) and his adoption of Ireland--now a dual citizen, he splits his time. I met Fred at a pub and book signing...what a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. You may not find Fred in the pub, but you can take him home with you!
