Biography

It's been a wild and crazy ride for Gainesville's Less Than Jake, who first met at the University Of Florida over a decade and a half ago. But instead of kicking their feet up and resting on their laurels, the ever-busy quintet have been working hard on the next chapter of Less Than Jake. Successfully extricating themselves from their major label contract (even though they still owed ... Read more in Amazon's Less Than Jake Store

What an ace album. I bought as soon as I had the money, and guess what the day I bought it I met those amazing guys. (Well actually only 3 really- Chris, Goldfinger(Buddy) and Roger.) They were so cool. I got the album signed. This CD is definately the best CD I've got, along with all the other 'Less Than Jake' albums. The first time I heard it I never stopped listening to it. It is a brilliant CD to listen to. With songs like, Surburban Myth, Look What Happened, Malt Liqior Tastes Better When You've Got Problems, and Gainsville Rockcity you can't fault it. I went to see Less Than jake the day this album came out and didn't know any of these new songs, but it was still amazing. They changed songs like Gainsville Rockcity, to Sheffield Rockcity. They were ace. If you're thinking about buying this album, QUIT THE THINKING AND GET YOU CREDIT CARD OR WHAT EVER YOU PAY BUY BECAUSE YOU WON'T REGRET IT. You' ll love it so much you'll never be able to take it out of you're CD player. Lets just say it was a brilliant follow up to the previous albums and I can't wait for more new music from 'Less Than Jake'!!

THIS ALBUM ROCKS! If you liked LTJs older stuff you WILL love this. With a slightly different (some say heavier - they're wrong) sound to their other albums, this CD is definately one of their better ones, along with Hello Rockview and Losing Streak. I bought this CD back in April '02, and listen to it on a regular basis. I often get bored of some CDs but this is just so good I can't stop loving it. Every track is brilliant, but try and get the extended version with the bonus live tracks - its even better! And why is everyone saying that fans of Blink 182 and Sum 41 will like it? It isn't anything like their music - OK they're good bands too, but very few bands are on a level with Less Than Jake. I would also recommend all the other LTJ albums, the Mad Caddies, Reel Big Fish, and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones to anyone who is looking for similarly cool music.

Being a die hard less than jake fan,i feel that i can have a fair say on this release. Here goes. When i bought borders and bounderies i was a little dissapointed,i mean, its not like ltj's other stuff where it smacks you in the face from the off,it takes a while getting used to,The songs are far more emotional than on the older releases,[look what happened the last time]is in my opinion the best written song on the album, but [gainsville rock city] is also very catchy, roger seems to add more vocals than before, and his voice sounds a lot better too,for anyone who likes punk or ska/punk you need to hear this album for yourselves, some of you will love it,but then some of you wont like it very much at all, less than jake have progressed as a band,so keep an open mind when listening to them.

Another great album from ska-punkers Less Than Jake. Just what we've come to expect from them now! Fast paced skanking songs to keep everyone in the pit happy! Buy this album and it won't leave your cd player for ages!

This album is the best Less than jake album I've heard. There are no songs on the album that let it down. Songs that stand out are Mr. Chevy celebrity and Gainsville Rock city, but the other songs are still outstanding. A quality album for fans of groups like Blink 182, Sum 41, Alkaline Trio and Reel Big Fish. A must buy!!

If you like anything from Blink 182 to lesser known bands like Catch 22 you will love this. Its full of catchy guitar riffs, great bass and tunes that will make you smile. Its a little less feel good than some of less than jake's other albums but although that may seem a bad thing it makes it better, giving the album more variety. Gainsville Rockcity is probably the best track on the album, I would say that this song bagins with one of the best guitar riffs ever written. You will not be able to stop listening to this cd...its addictive

Hmmm, what to say. this album is quite different from the usual less than jake stuff, a lot of the songs are more poppy than previously, but saying that, i think this is one of their best albums, and i hate pop. i think it just has more of a melodic theme to a lot of it. look what happened is an amazing song. it will appeal to all ska/punk fans. and for real less than jake fans, it is different, but not dissapointing at all.

I have heard talk of LTJ selling out on this album. May I take this opportunity to say; that this collection of songs is one of the finest I have ever listened to. Ok, they have dropped the horn section on some songs and most tracks are more listener friendly than their earlier albums. But to me, this is just a sign of a band maturing and trying not to get typecast as just a punk/ska outfit. Old habits do die hard though with the inclusion of the adrenaline fuelled 'Mr Chevy celebrity' and the heavily ska influenced 'suburban myth'. However, tracks like 'look what happened'(glorious), 'Gainesville rock city'(sublime), and 'is this thing on'(pure genius), suggest to me that this is a band who are top form and are willing to broaden their sound without losing their sense of fun or direction.
