How nice to have a new Henley book. The last couple of books she wrote were some of the worst I've ever read (skip "Year and a Day"--it must have been a ghostwriter). But this is one of the best and shows why Virginia is a master of her craft, the best of her genre. The writing quality is excellent, the story lusty and robust, full of vivid sensuality and history, and it's just a darn good romp of a romance read!
