Enjoyable read 7 Feb 2009
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I must admit that i have an interest here. I went to the same school as Mel, although many years before him. I am a Sheffield Wednesday fan and one of the characters he mentions is a customer of mine.
Having said that, Mel's honesty was quite touching and there were many amusing moments.
Anybody who has a love for Football would find this a good read and an interesting insight into the life of a football apprentice during the 1970's. Those were the days!
Enjoy

Honest 4 Feb 2009
Format:Hardcover
Normally footballers bio's are full of smugness and big egos but mel sterlands book is right from the heart.

The books tells of the highs and the many lows that mel suffered in and after his career in football told with honesty and packing a punch that makes it easy reading.

Excellent Book 29 Jan 2009
Format:Hardcover
As a Sheffield Wednesday Supporter, I had to buy this book. My claim to fame with Mel, was that he stopped and asked me for directions in Worksop, Notts. Mel pulls no punches and tells the story how it is. I would recommend this book to anyone who supports Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds or Rangers. A very Interesting read. It shall be taking pride on my bookshelf for years to come.
