I wasn't expecting too much from this device but was very pleasantly surprised at how flexible and adaptable it was in fitting. It is made from heavy duty materials and should last well even with harsh treatment. The bumper protection apron is particularly sturdy and doesn't flap around in the wind like some of the lighter-weight versions. The flap also creates a useful barrier - to stop the dog jumping out before you are ready - when it is hitched up to the sides. The upright sides and back are also semi-rigid which creates useful pocket and storage areas for leads, towels etc. If I have any criticism, it is that the velcro fasteners aren't too effective (not the real thing it seems) and so that's something for the manufacturer to look at. Otherwise it is an excellent protector and thoroughly recommended.
Update after 3 months of use: Still going strong and looks as good as new. I improved the side panels rigidity by inserting a couple of lengths of 3mm brazing rod in the top hem - simple to do and its now fully supported on the sides. My only criticism is that the two plastic clips that enable the bumper flap to be hooked up are a little lightweight and one has cracked. Otherwise an excellent buy. Would replace it with the same but that's not likely to be needed in the foreseeable future!
Six-plus months on, it is giving outstanding service! It's not showing any signs of wear and - after a hosing down following a particularly muddy episode - looks like new. My original criticism of weak 'velcro' is withdrawn! I hadn't removed the protective tape and the fact that it worked at all through that is a miracle. Can't praise it enough.
