Like the first four series, this fifth series of Boon had great storylines, some hilarious scenes with it as well. Once again, the late great Michael Elphick was in fine form as Ken Boon, along with David Daker as his mate and business partner Harry Crawford and Neil Morrissey as Richard "Rocky" Cassidy, and many other actors who featured in this programme regularly or occasionally. Nice to see the Central cake endboard appearing at the end of every episode. Very highly recommended indeed.
After an excellent fourth series which saw Boon relocate to a sunny Nottingham, the show returned for a fifth series in 1990. Again all the episodes here seem to gel pretty well and the cast - Michael Elphick, David Daker, Neil Morrisey and Elizabeth Carling are on fine form as ever. This series saw Ken and Harry form the Crawford Boon business partnership where Harry goes into the security business and Ken continues his private investigations. Like in previous years, there are nice collection of stories made all the more enjoyable by the various guest stars playing either clients or the intended targets. A great DVD package.
Very good buy, used to watch this back in the 80s, always enjoyable, looking forward to series 6 coming out. Ken Boon and the team always sort out the trouble, modern day hero and aways looked after the little guys.
