4.0 out of 5 stars Not surprisingly, a bit of a repetitive theme to this super book, 23 Jan 2008

This review is from: Boomerang Bear (Paperback)
from Stuart Trotter about a Teddy aka `Boomerang Bear`!

32 high quality shiny pages, in the popular 2-page spread format, starting with a cheery wave from Teddy, who obviously doesn't know how hard life is about to become!

Colourfully illustrated throughout.

From the back cover:-
`Eddy thinks he`s too old for a teddy.
So he throws his toy away.
But Teddy turns out to be
a very unusual bear.
And Eddy soon wants him back

A pacey story with delightful pictures, perfect for reading alone or aloud.'

Bold, easy-to-follow text on each page, with a repetitive theme on `Boomerang Bear' who keeps coming back, until one day Eddy goes just a little too far, and Teddy doesn't come back........life isn't quite the same without him!
Ideal to read aloud with the young reader joining in!

Example of text:-

`I'm too big for Teddy," said Eddy.
So he threw him out of the window.
But Boomerang Bear came back.
He kicked him out of the door.
But Boomerang Bear came back.
Eddy flushed him down the toilet,
which was very naughty.
But Boomerang Bear came back.'

The cheery wave from the painstaking Teddy, at the end, reveals that all is well that ends well!

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful simple story for the preschool child, 8 Mar 2007

This review is from: Boomerang Bear (Paperback)
This is a smashing picture book for those young children moving on from baby books into proper books who can follow a simple story. Eddy is a little boy who decides he no longer want teddy. He keeps trying to get rid of teddy, throwing him out the window, leaving him behind in all manner of places etc. Each time however, delivered by all kind of amusing characters, `Boomerang Bear came back' as your two year old will shout out at all the right places after only a few readings. This book has lovely bright illustrations and only a sentence or two per page, yet there's a great variety of pictures with a rocket, a farm and Little Red Riding Hood for example. There's also a gentle humour throughout - I particularly love the illustration of the plumber waist deep in water as Boomerang Bear comes back from one of his adventures. Then at last Eddy thinks he has finally got rid of teddy and begins to really miss him and guess what, yes, Boomerang bear comes back to the delight of the listener. Great for all year round and also a lovely Christmas present as Santa does make an appearance. A winner for the 2-5s.

4.0 out of 5 stars Boomerang Bear, 11 Sep 2009
By LuJane Nisse "Newspaper publisher" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Boomerang Bear (Paperback)
This is very cute little children's book. I had the real bear and went looking for the book. We owned a newspaper called The Boomerang! and the bear has a newspaper hat... perfect... PLUS my dear husband's nickname is Bear. I got the book to go with the little bear to give him for his birthday Dec. 4. His birthday won't come this year as he died of a massive heart attack September 1. The little bear and the book now belongs to his granddaughter, Sariah.

5.0 out of 5 stars Boom Bear Fantastic, 14 April 2008

I love this book (and i'm 30). This is one of my Nieces favourite books (she's 2 yrs old and calls it Boom Bear). Its easy for kids to follow, the pictures are fantastic and the words just flow when you read them, the repetition of words would be great for kids learning to read. All in all i really love this book. A+
