This was a gift (that I had asked for!)and I love it. I was a bit unsure of the size at first (I'd asked for the standard but been bought the medium) but this size book chair holds paperbacks and (not too thick) hardbacks perfectly. Now and again it is necessary to tighten the screws but otherwise very durable. It has three positions depending on how you like to angle your books. A really simple design that works great. Now you can read at the dinner table and people won't think you're unsociable because the book chair will be such a talking point! lol.
Perfect gift for anyone who reads but especially those who can't bear to stop reading to eat!

I love reading in bed but don't enjoy holding the book open, specially the thick ones. I enjoy it even less in the winter months when my fingers are rigid with cold. I understand that this is not the biggest problem in the world and I assure you it's not the experience I relate when talking to someone recently returned from a war zone. However, it is relevant to a review of this bookchair which has elegantly resolved all my bedtime reading problems. So much so, that I bought another one as a secret santa present for a friend who wears gloves in bed!
Books stay propped open until you have to turn the page(hmm..maybe I should get a page turner?)and the stand doesn't topple on lumpy bed surfaces. It will fall over if bedclothes are pulled around because it's quite light but I think the design strikes the right balance between practicality and looks.
Although I only use it for bedtime reading, it can also be a cookbook holder or a typing aid or a help on any other occasion when you need hands free reading. I find the bookchair to be useful, well priced and good looking.

I like to read in bed, rolled over onto my side and it is very difficult to hold a book. Was this bookchair going to provide the perfect solution?
Almost. It is very sturdy and holds a book really well on the surface of the bed. This medium version is best suited to paperbacks and slimmer hardbacks (you need the larger one if you mainly read hardbacks).
I do have a few issues. Firstly, the 'pegs' that hold the book open can hide some of the words on the page, which is quite irritating. Also, you have to really bend the book back for it to stay 'properly' open. As you get closer to the end of a book, it does seem more difficult for it to stay open. For me, the adjustable heights aren't quite as good as I would like - there needs to be one to make the chair higher as it's not high enough even on the top setting.

Great product
This product is very useful and was great for reading whilst on holiday. many people commented on it. Perhaps the little pegs to hold book could be tighter but overall very good.
