Brilliant. Does the job! I'd been spending quite a lot on trying to find the right book holder for me and now I found it, and at a fraction of the price that I'd been forking out for snazzier versions.
It's true, the materials feel cheap, but it doesn't feel as though it's going to break.
Advantages are that it can hold bigger books than most other holders, including coffee table sized books. I've even found that once a book (a paperback novel in this case) is in place, I could rest the holder on my lap in bed, over the duvet cover, and it stayed in place beautifully and without effort, which makes this even more valuable to me as I don't always want a lap tray across me.
Very glad to have found this product. I only wish I'd found it a month before and could have saved myself money on the book holders that were useless and had to be returned.

I am a medical student and I use the stand for large textbooks. However, because the stand is so small I have to put a piece of cardboard behind the book on the stand. Still, this is not a big deal and the stand folds down which is a big bonus.

Very satisfied with this product. It feels of a fairly solid quality and although it isn't especially pretty and occasionally requires some extra support when opening very large books away from the middle pages, it's a very reasonable price. Other book stands can cost considerably more, but a lot of what you're paying for is aesthetics. The size is actually a great advantage since, when folded down, it takes up no more room than a thin book so I can easily slip it into the small magazine pouch on my laptop bag. If you just want a practical solution to leaning books up in awkward places, this is probably the thing for you.

Perhaps only good to hold a magazine
Bought this for reading books "hands-free", but unless the book is open exactly in the middle, one of the sides will outweigh the other, and the whole thing topples over to one... Read more

This simple does not work tryed it on paperback & hardback didn't work on either, looks quite sturdy in picture but really v.v.flimsy. DO NOT BUY!!
