This book is the second in the ''Samurai Girl'' series and it's a great story set in L.A about a Japanese girl called Heaven who suddenly has to deal with the world on her own,as her comfortable easy life is totally turned upside down. Heaven has to master the art of the samurai - she is training to stay alive as an unknown enemy is after her. Even if you haven't read the first book ''Samurai Girl: The Book of the Sword'' you will find that the modern style of writting is easy and fun to follow and the fact that it's written from different character's points of view,is a good twist, as you can learn more about them and their feelings about other characters in the story. Also any teen can easily relate to Heaven's views and worries about herself and the others around her (and sometimes how wrong they can be)! It has well developed characters, some which you will really like and others which you'll totally dislike. It is a modern samurai story but it has a totally original twist and it's the coolest, most entertaining and exiting teen book written in ages!

When I first discovered this series a few days ago, I read this book first and then the first book. I found it incredibly hard to put down and read it in one afternoon. I read the book of the sword yesterday and now I have ordered the third book. These books are fast-paced and interesting. Heaven's life is so dangerous, with her constantly being hunted. I love the way it is set out and all the letters written by the other characters give a totally different viewpoint. My only disappointment was that I couldn't dive straight into the third book! I hope I can collect all of the books in this series as I am positive I would read them again and again in the future.

I think that all the Samuri Girl books I have read so far have been brilliant. They show the bravery of one girl even though she was almost forced to marry someone, saw her brother killed in front of her, her father almost killed and many other very difficult things. So all I can say is Go Girl!!!
