Air supply have continued to amaze me with a constant run of tremendous albums, since their very first, back in 1976. This album contains some of their best work to date, with so many excellent melodious ballads.
Standouts for me include 'once' a beautiful piano instrumental, and the three consecutive tracks: 'daybreak', where I believe Russel gives his best vocal performance ever, with unbelievable power and passion, 'mother said', a touching and beautiful song, with personal undertones, and 'would you ever walk away', the third track in a row that proves a pop song does not need drums for it to be catchy.
This is not to say the other tracks not mentined are not excellent too, the album blew me away, and still did, after repeated listens.
One warning though, the last track 'all that you want', is in my mind their WORST song to date, no melody, a nasty synth line that is discordant and sounds like a death march, and the title line repeated over and over. Why this track was inclided is beyond me.
But excellent nontheless. Graham and Russel are geniuses.
