This volume is essential reading for enthusiasts and those new to digital photography. The book is made of very good paper and the photos and illustrations are top notch. There are quite a number of grammatical errors but this is probably due to poor editing. This, however, does not affect the value of this solid book which covers virtually all the topics any enthusiast would be interested in.

This book gives a good introduction into digital photography and starts by showing the different types of digital camera then moves on to describe the basics such as ISO settings, depth of field, colour balance, composition & framing etc. The third section provides an insight into digital processing techniques. The book is clearly written with easy to see examples and in such a manner that you can just read the bit you want to brush up your skills/understanding as you need or you can read it from cover to cover. A great reference guide to taking better photographs whether you're using a digital compact, digital SLR or an "old fashioned" photographic film camera.
