I'm using a PC with iTunes and I'm also finding problems with the digital copy. The digital copy offer expires 07/12/2010 according to my leaflet inside the Blu-ray case. The same leaflet has an authorisation code which seems to suggest downloading it from the Warner Brothers digital copy download site (I too tried to redeem this code with iTunes with no luck). The Warner Brothers site gives me the option of downloading both the "PC Version" and the "Portable Version" the later, interestingly, doesn't appear to be compatible with iTunes as its a WMV file (483mb). I'm now also downloading the "PC Version" (1575mb) but I guess that too will be incompatible with iTunes. What annoys me is that the leaflet inside states at the very top "How to get your windows media AND iTunes Digital Copy" and says in the small print that it is compatible with iTunes and elsewhere on the WB site it says it's not compatible.
Indeed. Great information, thanks. Guess I'm not the only one who'll have problems with this. I think it's false advertising, and even more disappointed will be the people who get this item for Christmas and find it impossible to download. If the expiry date for the digital copy is the 7/12/09 (the same as the release date) that is completely ridiculous. Anyone who demanded a refund for this item would surely be justified in doing so since the digital copy promised is not a part of the package as stated in the description.
Well, I have managed to download a digital copy. It's just I really wanted it done via iTunes so ultimately I could transfer to my iPhone. I'm now beginning to suspect that the iTunes portion of this offer was aimed at the USA consumers only. If anything changes I'll post it here.
The same problems here, logged a supported request with wb and over a week now with no response other than the initial "we received your support request" email. Both the box and the inlay clearly state mac support and itunes while the site does not (despite the film actually being available on itunes for purchase). The expiry date is 7/12/2010
It seems I'm now able to download the iTunes version by going to www.wbdigitalcopy.com/harrypotter6/uk-ie. It'll ask you for your country of origin, name, birthday etc. You will need to enter your Authorisation Code from the Blu-ray insert, from this it should now give you an iTunes store redeem code.
My wife bought HP 7 yesterday. Today I tried to download the digital copy on my WinXP PC but the install of the WB digital copy manager sticks on 'install' (stage 2). I tried on my wife's Win7 laptop and managed to download both the copies. They took ages to download but after closing the loader down I cannot find either copy on the laptop. What a pain in the RRRs. I wanted to stick it on our MP3 player. Why don't they just stick the bloody thing on the disc if you have paid for it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
