This is the first book I bought on Bonsai, and I refer to this book everytime I have the need. Good, clear definitions and helpful diagrams provide the basis towards understanding the Art of Bonsai.

Includes Botanical, Common Names, the different cultivation methods (ie sun, watering, pruning etc).. Well done, Harry Tomlinson..

Good for beginners. 17 July 2009
Format:Paperback
I went looking for a book to help me care for my new bonsai as soon as I realised I had no idea what I was doing!! I bought this book and also "Bonsai Basics" as both seemed pretty good. "Bonsai: 101 Essential Tips" briefly covers just about everything you need to know as a beginner, from where to keep your bonsai to how and what to feed it. And also, once you get more confident, it also goes into detail about wireing and repotting your tree.
If you like to have a basic guide on what to do, and catch on quickly, this is the book for you. If however you don't trust yourself to get it right straight away (like me) and prefer to have as much information as possible, then "Bonsai Basics" is probably a better choice.

I'd want it to be a bit more indepth on some things but I think the idea is that it's a brief guide

Bonsai
Not a bad little pocket guide for quick reference. Covers the main topics of bonsai but not in depth as this is what it says a basic book.

Great all rounder!
This book is great for choosing which tree to have for bonsai, especially if you are new to bonsai. The selection is huge and it is also very educational.
