Product Description

Book Description

This Book features various humorous fictional animals called
'Bonkers Beasts', created in a vivid and realistic 3d CGI style. The
illustrations are colourful and dynamic and are aimed at key stage 1 & 2
children. They are a great jumping off point for the children to explore
their own ideas and work at different levels with all ages from 2 to 10.

There is a poem with each 'beast' that can be read aloud to smaller
children or read personally by those a little older. They are intentionally
funny and a little bit silly to encourage children to see that there is a
light hearted fun side to poetry.
There is also a colouring-in section for each animal to add an activity
element to the book and make it a little more interactive. Older Children
can draw their own 'beasts' or perhaps make plasticine models.

About the Author

Roger Harris moved to the Canterbury area in the mid 1970's and
studied computer science at Canterbury College and graphics at Medway
College of Design. After combining both skills and working in the computer
graphics industry for 15 years he became a freelance illustrator in 1995.

He has produced artwork for children's books, advertising,
computer games, packaging and other areas for many different clients
including Dorling Kindersley and Lego. He also paints perfectly normal
animals and dabbles in music production.

This is his first book as both writer and illustrator. As you can probably
tell from the content he is quite bonkers himself and has far too much
spare time!
He lives, works and plays in Herne Bay.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Fun, 15 Dec 2006

This is a great book for kids. It had wonderful animals doing wierd things, like scuba diving, and rock hopping. With a fantastic picture and a little poem on one side of the spread with a line drawing of the animal on the other side to colour in. Hours of fun as well as great for the imagination. I love the Inflating sking penguin and the skydiving cow.

Got this book a while ago now, before the R.Gervais commercial one. Glad to see it getting recognition!
The kids love it, and even sing some of the poems still. especially the 'is it a bird, is it a whale, no! its a supersonic snail' one.
It even has a colour your own .. with each poem.
Highly Recommended!!

This is a fabulous book for children and even most adults that I have shown this to have enjoyed it just as much. Wonderful vibrant colours and fantastic bold images make this book a real attraction. The poems are quirky & funny - quite different to any children's book I have come across before. I love it!
