Product Description

One of the most highly acclaimed comic book stories of recent times launching as a stunning full colour graphic novel series.

When the three Bone cousins – Fone Bone, Phoney Bone and Smiley Bone – are run out of Boneville thanks to Phoney Bone's greedy scheming, they have no idea what adventures await them.

Separated by a cloud of locusts, the cousins find themselves lost in a mysterious valley, populated by the cute (a family of possums and a leaf-shaped bug named Ted) as well as the scary (carnivorous, sharp-toothed rat-creatures desperate to eat them).

Isolated from everything he knows, Fone Bone must find his cousins again, as well as stop an evil rat creature plan and save the entire valley in his spare time. Lucky for him, he's got the beautiful Thorn on his side. Oh, and a huge, fire-breathing dragon…

It is perfect reading--- fun, lovable characters, a great plot and wonderful humor. If you read any sort of comic whether in the newspaper or in comic books, you'll LOVE Bone!!

This series has taken on a very slow pace lately, but the first few issues are positively magical. I know its been said before, but Bone does pay a very strong tribute to POGO; Fone Bone possesses character traits similar to Pogo's and there is at least a little bit of Albert the gator in Smiley Bone. Phone Bone, however, doesn't seem to resemble anyone from POGO except, perhaps, Seminole Same (actually Phone Bone bears an uncanny resemblance to Bill Watterson's Calvin). Anyway, this is good stuff. I would say the only thing missing is color, but the absence of it makes the artwork more savory somehow.

Well the plot was intriguing, if it was a little slow getting on its feet. It's not as funny as others have made it out to be, though. I chuckled a little, 2 or 3 times through the book and there were moments just amusing enough to make me smile. Most of the gags are the kind of visual humour that could only possibly have the desired effect in the form of moving pictures.

Maybe I'm older than the target audiance. If you're thinking about buying this for a kid then go for it, what could go wrong?

But, like I said, the plot is intriguing but it didn't give me enough to say that my appetite have been wet for more. I guess this is a spoiler (unless you've looked at the title of the next volume) but the whole thing is about a 30 minute read and you're left with the certain knowledge that the next spectacular event that might take place is a race of cows. I know there's likely to be more than that, but without more information who gives a toss?

It's kinda cheap so I might just order it with the next expensive item I buy, since I'll probably go for the free delivery.

Basically I *would* like to read more but I don't think I would go to any great pains to do so.
