From Amazon.co.uk

Filmed at their Royal Albert Hall debut gig in September 2000--actually a media junket launching Bond to music industry execs--Bond Live is a slick showcase for four classically trained ex-session musicians' fusion of string quartet and rock music. Whatever the hype, four beautiful women wearing scanty tops and dancing with violins while backed by a five-piece rock combo and small, rarely seen string section, has nothing to do with making classical music cool and everything to do with sex. No heterosexual male is going to have any difficulty remaining glued to the screen, especially during "Duel" in which first and second violins Haylie Ecker and Eos trade licks "guitar hero" style. Further setting classical claims aside, most of the tracks are new instrumentals written by Magnus Fiennes or Tonci Huljic for the album Born, though "The 1812" does manage to reduce Tchaikovsky's overture to a five-minute dance number. With rock-show lighting, synthesisers, dance beats, band members chatting to the audience and a finale involving the "James Bond Theme" followed by a Rio-style fiesta for the closing "Victory--Carnival Mix" this is camp, melodramatic, sexy fun for lads everywhere. Purr-fect for a double bill with Josie and the Pussycats.

On the DVD: The hour-long gig is presented with a very clear anamorphically enhanced 1.77:1 image, which despite the often low lighting is packed with detail and largely free of grain and artefacts. The Dolby Digital 5.1 sound is exceptionally full with very powerful bass. Special features include three music videos and a section going behind the scenes of the shoot for the "Victory" video, though two of these can only be accessed by working through a 10-part multimedi a quiz. The 13 minutes of interviews are standard promotional trivia, though the gallery of 10 studio-posed full-screen photographs will raise pulse rates. DVD-ROM content includes a Web link, poster and screensaver. --Gary S Dalkin

Well for their first live performance they just ooze talent. They show through the energy of their playing that they really do enjoy being out there. The DVD is broadly made up of tracks from their debut album with a few useful diversions thrown in. Even the Dallas theme tune gets the four gorgeous girls treatment, and how.
Their isnt a bad moment in the whole hour. For a first performance this is very polished.
Added to the package are the videos of two recent singles which makes for a complete set for the ardent supporter.
The DVD also includes some extras that a fan in particular will enjoy; a screen saver, a poster you can print from your PC, oh and a ring tone too!!
All in all Id say its well worth the money!

4 gorgeous ,classicaly trained girls mix classic with pop on string instruments with backing from a small rock combo.
The performance at Albert Hall goes from movie/TV themes(James Bond,Dallas) to classical music(Tchaikovski's 1812)and to the great ending with a carnaval style performance of Victory.
My favourite piece from this album is Korobushka.
Take 4 talented ,good-looking girls ,add catchy tunes and you have great enertainment.
The sound and picture are very good, and you get some extra's-pictures ,interviews and 2 video's(one of Victory ,but only after you go through a quiz).
If you want to know why I gave it only 4 stars-it's because it's very good entertainment but not great art(after all it's classified as classical music DVD).

I had not seem much of this group before seeing them on DVD. After watching it I was impressed as it shows they are exciting and have lots of talent that is evident in their music, yes they are all are gorgious looking women but don't let that deflect from the music itself which is fresh and vibrant. I would say these ladies have more to offer than just their cute looks.
The quality of the DVD itself is great, Dolby Surround 5.1 and really clear Widescreen picture plus lots of extras on a well put together package, if only all other DVD's could be as good as this. If you like the classical sound with a mix of dance music/pop beats then is a must for your collection. It one word, "superb".

I borrowed a copy of this DVD from a friend of mine last

week & I enjoyed it so much that I bought a copy for myself.

All the music is excellent, but my particular favourite is Victory, its a real toe tapper.

These girls not only look good, they play their instruments

superbly & are very talented musicians & I thought they

came close to achieving studio sound, which takes some doing

on a live performance.

There wasn`t a bad moment in the entire show & I thought

it was a very accomplished & highly polished performance &

would recommend this DVD to all Bond fans,as I now am.

DVD is advertised as region 2-6. Will not play on either my region 2 Sony DVP-SR760H DVD Player, nor on my Sony BR player. Will play on my computer, but thatis not how I want to view this dvd.

Several other people have experienced the same problem, but I did not read the reviews before ordering. Will not buy from this supplier again.

I cannot review this item as I could not play it.The reason according to the disc was that my Dvd player was not compatible with the region. Unless the box and the disc label were wrong this was not an import Perhaps I got in error the chinese version. My Dvd player is nearly new an a HD & 3D model.
