2 May 2011 Lang Reilly Thrillers
It was Napoleon Bonaparte's most prized possession, the key to his vast global conquests and military victories. For nearly two centuries it has remained hidden. But now one nation will stop at nothing to locate it. And Lang Reilly may be the only man who stands in their way-unless they can eliminate him. From Venice to Port-au-Prince, Alexandria to Paris, Lang will need to stay one step ahead of assassins while trying to find the answers to...The Bonaparte Secret.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read!! 11 May 2011
By M. Chastain - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Gregg Loomis' latest Lang Reilly thriller takes the reader from the mountains above Port au Prince to the canals of Venice to the crowded streets of Alexandria to parts of Paris not frequented by the normal tourist. The new dictator of Haiti is quite mad and the Chinese want to establish a base in the Carribean. The Haitian will cooperate only if the Chinese can present him with an artifact so powerful the ancients believed it guaranteed military success. Reilly's job: get it first. With Loomis' usual attention to historical detail, the story plunges across the millennia as furiously as it does the world's geography: Ancient Babylon to Napoleon's failed Egyptian campaign to the present, all with I-can't-put-it-down plotting. A great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Greg Loomis thrills us again... 14 Jun 2011
By H. Wevers - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have always been a Gregg Loomis fan and await his books with impatience! The Bonaparte Secret is another well researched & written novel that again places Lang and his new wife Gurt in the wrong place at the wrong time, St Mark's Church in Venice. From there the action starts with a boat chase through the canals of Venice by the Chinese Secret Service and continues on back to the USA & Lang's home. It's then Lang contacts his old mate at the Agency who convinces both he & Gurt to do one more favour for Uncle Sam and find out exactly what it is the Chinese are so desperate to get their hands on, why & more importantly, get it first. The book refers us to the time Bonaparte was Emperor & then takes us from Venice, Haiti, a dig in Alexandria through to Paris with typical Lang Reilly action all the way. If you have never read a Gregg Loomis novel, do yourself a favour & start now, I guarantee you will soon be reading his previous 5 novels... enjoy !!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrilling as always! 7 July 2011
By Gypsy Wantabe - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Greg Loomis delivers again! His thrillers are always exciting and original and his characters interesting. I like the way he always incorporates some small tidbit of non-fiction and ties it all together. I feel a little smarter after I read his books.
