4.0 out of 5 stars The real Best of Morrissey album 30 Oct 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
From the sublime Will Never Marry and Such a Little Thing to the indie classics Suedehead and Everyday Is Like Sunday, this album is the real best of Morrissey. Taking in the first four years of Morrissey's solo career, this album contains the highlights from the Viva Hate album as well as singles and B-Sides from the same period. November Spawned a Monster and Last of the Famous... are as good as any songs Morrissey has written, whether solo or with the Smiths. The B-sides here too, were better than a lot of what followed, Hairdresser on Fire standing out in particular. In truth, some of the albums (and especially the best of albums) after this one were patchy. This one doesnt have a weak track. As good as it got.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best 25 Sep 2005
Format:Audio CD
Let's keep this short and sweet. This is without a doubt the best Morrissey collection ever. Forget about any 'best of...' releases, just dig out a copy of this because it has his best work on a single CD and compares favourably to his earlier work with The Smiths. A classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm writing this to say.... 7 Jan 2010
Format:Audio CD
This album takes me back to good times in Moz's career... It's not my favourite but then again it's near impossible to pick out a 'best of' from such an amazing back catalogue from one of the greatest song writers of our time. If your looking for an album to introduce people to Morrisseys solo work then this is it.How can anyone not be blown away by the passion of such songs as 'Suedehead' and 'Everyday is like sunday'...?? There really isn't a bad track on here. If you like this you'll also like 'Viva Hate' which is Moz's first solo album. If only certain sections of the press were to focus on his talent instead of how 'miserable' he's supposed to be more people would give him a chance and a listen. No more X factor...Lots more of this please! This album doesn't drag one bit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ranks up there with The Smith's best. 9 Mar 2004
Format:Audio CD
'Bona Drag' comes in between a greatest hits and a fully fledged Morrissey album, being as it is a compilation of the many singles and B-sides he released after his debut solo effort, 'Viva Hate', as well as taking the best two songs from his first album, the epic "Every Day is like Sunday" and the catchy "Suedhead". Indeed, along with the typically Smiths-like "The Last of the Famous International Playboys" - a bizarre ode to the infamous Kray brothers - and the beautiful "Such a Little Thing" and "Ouija Board, Ouija Board" these make up the crux of the album. Of course, it doesn't quite stand up alongside 'The Queen is Dead' or 'Strangeways, Here we Come', but this is, nevertheless, a piece of musical mastery, and the best Morrissey experience you can get on any of his solo work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Morrissey delivers as usual. 26 Nov 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
It's the second time I've bought this album. The first being upon its first release. Listening to it again brought the memories flooding back. My favourite track has to be 'Yes I am blind', which is pure poetry.

Morrissey is a giant among others. His lyrics are sublime. Buy this and lose yourself in his world.
