Format: Audio CD
The two-CD Bombay Dub Orchestra does exactly what it says on the tin. Nearly two hours worth of music, with a little bit of Bombay, parts of the album were recorded by Indian musicians at Empire Audio in Mumbai, a little bit of Dub, check out the enhanced remix disc, and a little bit of Orchestra, utilising violins, violas, celli, sitar and tabla.

The 12 tracks on disc one are beautifully produced, layering the lush string arrangements over gentle but hypnotic beats and haunting melodies. My favourites are To The Shore, Dust and the wonderful Beauty and the East.

While the first disc will put you in a laid back mood, the second disc will take you to a dub induced chill-out heaven.

The enhanced disc two is a fantastic bonus, with more than 50 minutes'-worth of remixes which saves you having to wait for the expanded version of the album when it's re-released in a few years' time. The highlights are Rare Earth: The Forest of Thieves Mix, Feel: The Diamond Cake Mix, and Beauty and the East: The Marine Drive Traffic Jam.

If you're looking for an album to get you in the mood for a raucous night out, this isn't it. But if you're looking for an album to give you a chilled-out and `feel-good' feeling, then this is definitely for you.

This is the most beautiful music I've heard in a long while. It creates a wonderful mood and takes one on a journey which one wants to be endless. Fabulously crafted. The best of East meets West.

I love old school dub, and this is a great selection, King Tubby central to things, as is only right.. I've been playing it all summer. 10/10
