Product Description

Product Description

They were the bombardiers, hunkered down behind their screens at Alantic Pacific, dealing bonds they hated to people they hated in jobs that took all their lives. Sid Geeder was King of Mortgages and Eggs Igino his lietenant. The air they breathed was rotten with the stench of high tech, information economy, pure capitalism and with the frenzy of grunts driven wild by impossible targets, unmeetable deadlines and overwhelming work loads, they wanted only out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny, merciless, well-paced satire., 14 Dec 1999
By A Customer
More than just a book of witty comments on the absurdities of the investment banking world, this is a very well written satire. The plot is slowly but hilariously developed; the characters, while not necessarily likeable, become more and more real throughout the story; and it is written at the pace of an un-put-downable thriller.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book will change your life, 1 May 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Bombardiers (Paperback)
I didn't know anything until I read this and now I understand everything. Brilliantly satiric portrayal of western capitalism in the mid-nineties.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bond market mayhem, 15 Jun 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: Bombardiers (Paperback)
This book provides a hilariously exaggerated view of the bond markets in which I work every day. Likely to be appreciated by others with firsthand experience as the funniest aspect is the grain of truth behind even the seemingly absurd events and characters.
