Based on the true story of writer Brad Listerman and starring his real wife Kashmira Shah this film tells the tale of a writer's search of real love, which takes him to Mumbai. Alex (Jason Lewis) is a Hollywood writer who meets Reena (Shah) by chance in LA. The pair makes a real connection but Reena is due to fly back to Mumbai and leaves without saying goodbye. She does, however, leave Alex with the advice to 'follow his dreams'. He decides that his dreams include following her to Mumbai and making the Bollywood beauty his bride. Her family, however, are not enamored of the idea of hosting a California playboy in the family mansion.

Okay, if you are not a fan of romantic comedies or India...stop right here! But if you love visuals of India, visuals of Jason Lewis (that guy from Sex and City "Jerrod, the Hunk") and beautiful Indian women (Neha Dubey and Kashmera Shah) you will love this beautiful, romantic romp! Great story of a guy who meets a girl in American and loses her. He tracks her down in India and dicovers she is like the Julia Roberts of India!! (Bollywood). Then the real fun begins with great funny characters and situations of a fish out of water! You will love this film if you want a great light romantic comedy that shows beautiful India in a postive light with a very funny story...gotta see this movie!!!! It's in English and does not have Bollywood songs...just Bollywood backdrop!

I saw this film in America at a festival. This film is NOT a Bollywood musical film but a Hollywod type romantic comedy with some family drama sprinkled in with music. Guy meets girl in LA and loses her, then chases her to India to discover she is a big Bollywood star engaged to be married in an arranged marriage. he and his new friends like a hillariuos rickshaw driver and a upcoming star, Bobby K (Sanjay Suri) have to help Alex (Jason) find the girl and maybe win her over. There is also a small love story involving the dance teacher and Bobby K. I found some of the writting was just okay and other times it was quite cute. The biggest fun of the film was the visuals and music! It was not a musical but had some of the great Bollywood hit songs from over the years and a few new ones too. Also a few dance numbers done as part of the story line and not like a musical. Acting was pretty good. Kashmera Shah who played Reena was great and the other girl, Neha Dubey, was also beautiful! My girlfriend loves Jason Lewis, the guy from Sex and the City (Jerrod Smith, The Hunk) and thought he was good. Over all the film is a fun romantic comedy with beautiful people, beautiful images of India and great inside looks at the world of Bollywood. Good family film and great english introduction to Bollywood for someone that does not like musicals or 3 hour long Hindi masala films! This was a fun and easy on the eyes, 93 minutes of toe tapping fun and romance as well as dance numbers and action scenes for the guys too! Definitley worth seeing and telling friends to see!!

Very poorly acted, especially by the two romantic leads. Anyone looking for a light hearted Indian romance should watch Bride and Prejudice, or for something dealing with more serious life issues - Monsoon Wedding,Bride And Prejudice [2004] [DVD]
