Product Description

Book Description

This delightful children's book tells the tale of Swampy, a
young Marsh Boggle who loves eating sweetsludge pie and going boating in
the pongy swamps of BeWILDerwood. Boggles in general don't go far from the
safety of their quiet reed village and Swampy is not really the bravest of
Boggles. So when he does try out a bit of exploring in the Scary Lake he
soon finds that it is called scary for a reason. Something huge is lurking
in the water, but what is it?

Embark on a wild adventure with Swampy and his friends. Travel through the
magical world of BeWILDerwood. Meet the dancing Wood Twiggles, encounter
witches, Thornyclod Spiders and much, much worse. Will they be eaten up by
a great shoal of Muddleteeth? Can they somehow get across the Broken
Bridge? Do they fall out of a lot of trees?.....Well, yes they do,
actually!

So the next time you're near a scary lake... watch out where you dangle
your toes.

From the Publisher

Beautifully illustrated by Steve Pearce and charmingly told by
Tom Blofeld, this story will appeal to children of all ages, but especially
to those who like delicious food and exciting adventures.

"A Boggle at BeWILDerwood" forms a literary complement to Norfolk's latest
and most exciting visitor attraction, BeWILDerwood, a curious treehouse
adventure located on the Horning Road (aka A1062) in Hoveton, Norwich,
Norfolk NR12 8JW. At BeWILDerwood, children of all ages can follow in
Swampy's footsteps, walk the Broken Bridge, get lost in the Muddle Maze,
whoosh down the Wobbly Wires, and meet some of the many delightful
characters from the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great new book to accompany new nature theme park, 7 Jun 2007
By M. Evans (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
this book is a delight, especially for children who have been or are planning a vist to Norfolk's newest, unusual attraction. The charming tale of the inhabitants of the marshes bordering the Broads and their cousins who live high up in the trees, will appeal to all ages. There is proper attention to detail, especially when it comes to the main, quanting character and the descritpion of the Boggles' favourite food, and there are good turns of phrase which make it more amusing than a standard children's book. The illustrations are both unsentimental and easily distinctive while the originality of the story, which is closely linked to places that people can find on a trip to the park itself, stands out. It appears that this is Tom Blofeld's first published book so as a first-time children's author he should be congratulated for evoking so vividly an imaginative and eco-friendly wilderness.

This is a wonderful book, we visited Bewilderwood in Norfolk and my son loved it, so did his Mum and Dad. The book is super, well written, beautifully illustrated and a lovely, magical book for children and adults. Please write some more!

1.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating and gripping for tens and under (and some that think they are 10!), 27 Feb 2009
I purchased this book for my grand-daughters (aged 8 and 10) prior to an actual visit to Bewilderwood which is situated near Norwich on the author's own grounds. The story about the boggles and twiggles and their world is fascinating and gripping - if you then subsequently make a visit and travel on the boat over to their island it brings the whole book/s alive and they are read again. I commend all the books wholeheartedly.A delighted Grannie (who sometimes thinks she is ten!!)
