These are the cheapest adjustable dumbells that seem to be around. They may not look like the Bowflex 1090 dumbells, but they are more compact as the weights are solid steel, not plastic. Also maybe not as beautifull, but then you are hopefully going to pump steel and not just look at them.
The range of possible weights is great and is easy to use. I did have problem when I first chose a selection, as one of the small end weights did fall out. I belive this happend because the lock wasn't down properly. this hasn't happened again so must have just been a fluke.
In order to change the weight selection, there is a red thumb button that needs to be pushed; then you can turn the knob to your required weight.
The handle fits the hand very nicely and is made of rubber and steel, the only plastic parts on it are the weight dial knob, but even this is well made.
I find that they feel really good when doing chest type workouts on the bench. As for curling the weights they do jingle a bit, in that they are not tightly locked and have maybe 1mm of give. I therefore turn them at a angle to try and stop the jiggle of the weights.
Not bad for the price.
