this is the book modern spiritual women have been waiting for. I couldn't put it down, yet kept wanting to revisit the points made before moving on to the next chapter. this book has so much to say to women who wish to simply live their spirituality , not apart from their bodies, the world or their lives....simply as an integral part of living. it is about walking your talk just by feeling the divine feminine in all life.
the author is authorative and simply wise. yet she puts over her points with such a degree of 'best friend-ness' that you begin to feel her as well as read her. there is so much in this book and I want it for my sister, my daughters and nieces.
the message of the book is about being able to live spiritually as women, not in a patriarchal way of mind thought disengaged from our bodies, but rather as women with bodies, families, homes and careers. I loved the fact that it allows homely things to be inherently spiritual such as crafts, food preparation, child rearing and simple gatherings of women. this is quite a step away from a lot of books just now which ask us to lift away from our bodies and disengage from the mundane so we can be spiritual. well, as women we have to see the mundane as spiritual as we cannot easily escape from it to go 'find ourselves' in a cave somewhere while our children need our attention or our elderly need our support. life is Spirit and the author explains this in many ways from her appreciation of women's gatherings to moon flow ceremonies to creative art and beauty to simply making a house a home.
there is so much more I could say. this book is a breath of fresh air .it helps us see how to rebalance out of sync energies without unbalancing ourselves. it shows a path forward to be an authentic spiritual woman with no fear also no aspirations to be male.
simply a wonderful book.
