This book has completely changed the way i now work with my clients in the health industry. I have always been frustrated when people come to me with aches and pains that I have no way of helping them with! (well basic remedialwork only) but this book has enabled me to confidently approach the distortions of the body by using very well explained techniques to erradicate the clients pain and get to work on 'fixing' them back to, or as near as, their former healthy selves. The unique thing this book does is that it also helps a person(s) to help themselves, which is what I beleieve to be the single most important aspect of any fitness/training programme. There should be enough help to get the person started on understanding how their body works and responds to movement and exercise, but also educate them to 'heal' themselves when the body lets you know it needs some TLC! which it does so well by sending you pain signals or playing 'tug of war' and pull your body out of shape!. This book enables the reader to get the power and confidence in themselves to map their own body and relieve pain etc. which in turn means they do not need people like me anymore!!!!!I must add that as a fitness instructor I felt that the book (for my needs in the industry) has probably been cut quite a bit as i felt i could have had more infromation on specific areas, I hope that there will be a 'Body Smart 2' book with all the other pieces included.
